Cute Place in a great location. The rooms are clean and quiet. The restaurant has absolutely nothing for vegans and very little for vegetarians to eat. The beer is good and the people are friendly.

My wife and I thought we'd try the motel (only been in the bar before) for our night away a few months back.

Room was very clean, nicely decorated and gave a warm feeling.
Shower great! Bathroom CLEAN! And the BEST PART the price was GREAT!

Check in was a breeze with Mary. Kinda quiet gal But very pleasant.

We decided to head into the bar for a drink while waiting for the casino shuttle. Our server, Samara, was bright and bubbly.

All and all I would not hesitate to recommend this motel to anyone.

    BTW
Shots in the bar are VERY generous.

Motel is 50's style, rooms are small but fresh. Adjacent Driftwood Inn restaurant is wonderful any time of day . THE late nite hang out in St. Ignace. Solid pizza making skills here
Located across from island ferry docks and within walking distance to shops and attractions.

Great food! Pasties were homemade and PERFECT! Whitefish was delicious and was displayed like a photo. The breakfast buffet even had Eggs Benedict! Clean. Really good prices. And the bathroom has a dish with this really great sugar and coconut oil scrub. :)

I've never stayed at the hotel but I have eaten at the restaurant several times. I'm usually in the area at least once or twice a year for work and have eaten at the Driftwood Motel restaurant. Each time I would order the planked Whitefish it. On my most recent visit I feel like it's gone down in quality. The planked Whitefish was not very flavorful. I think next time I'm going to try another restaurant. However, the white fish spread and crackers here, as an appetizer, is absolutely delicious.

Salad bar is really good. Baked potato soup is stellar--they make it by the bucket for good reason. Hence, it surprised and saddened me that they don't make their own tartar sauce, but hand out packaged tartar sauce. Fried perch is delicious. I recommend passing on the bland, soggy fries and trying either mashed or baked potato. Service is good and friendly, and I enjoyed the ambience. Lite eaters beware: portions are shareable.

I've only ever had lunch here but it is always very good. The food is tasty and fresh. The staff are friendly and helpful. The meals are simple but well made. The salad and soup bar gets the job done without too many frills but the fish meals are always top notch! They are open all year, which is a bonus during winter months as the selection is pretty limited in the Straits area during the off-season.

Food was pretty good, I had the seafood Alfredo. Staff were minimally friendly. If I was a drinker would have had lots of fun bartenders got a 6sec. Pour all day! The reason for three stars is, the most senior bartender said to me would you like another pound of sugar with your tea?? Straight faced. I can't believe she said that to me I took it as an insult. I wish the place was more friendly.

Restaurant was clean and elegant. The food was superb. My girlfriend and I had their whitefish and perch dinner special. The chefs did an excellent job making our dinner. A special shout out to the chef John as he made our night with his stories. I will definitely be back.

We have stayed here a few times and the rooms are very nice and clean. If you are looking for some great local food this is the spot. Get the smoked Whitefish dip and you will be extremely happy. They also have Keweenaw brewing on tap which is always s plus!

My husband and I had dinner here our first night in St. Ignace. We were seated quickly but it took a while to get our drinks and we only ordered a water and Bud light. They did apologize for the wait but it was weird because we were one of 5 - 6 couples there and everyone else seemed to have already been served. The waitress was nice but kept making comments under her breath and then complaining about her coworkers not helping her. The food was decent, I ordered the California Salad and the chicken served tasted like it was a frozen Tyson's chicken tender sliced up and microwaved. My husband ordered the perch and said it tasted fine. I was eating some of his fries when the waitress came over and took the plate from me (awkward). Overall I would eat there again if I needed to but wouldn't recommend it if there are other places available.

Rooms were clean with pretty log furniture inside. Room came with a coffee pot and fridge. The motel is right across the road from the ferry launch to Mackinac Island. You can sit on the bench outside your room and watch the boats and the water across the way. There is a sports bar and restaurant attached that offers room service and has great food and service at decent prices.

The Driftwood Motel and Bar is amazing. The staff is friendly and well mannered. The outside is inviting and clean. The rooms are just the right size to move around in and not be crowded. The beds are extremely comfortable and the linens are super fresh. They offer a in room coffee pot and mini fridge which if you have kids is a huge bonus. The food from the bar and grill was great. The staff was there when you needed them but not bothersome. The Chicken Alfredo and Olive Burger had alot of taste and good size so well worth the money. And the veiw is spectacular, sunset and sunrise over the lake was beautiful. When I come to town again I will be staying here.
