Attractive waterfront establishment with a distinctive railroad dock motif. Indoor or patio seating. Extensive menu. Generous salad bar option. Chef is able to accommodate most requests. Great find!

Our first meal as a married couple and it was amazing. Had jumbo shrimp and cheese stick for apps. Steak and whitefish combo dinner and she had lobster stuffed flounder. Everything was delish and servers are awesome.

Returned next night for dinner again and received same great service and great food again. This place is gold.

The food was very good, the view from the patio was awesome. Everything was reasonably priced. The downside was that it took 15 minutes once we were seated for any wait staff to get to the table.

I've eaten here many times, the food and the salad bar is good. I've also recommended it to friends, but this trip not so much. We stood waiting to be seated for over 5 minutes. Three employees looked at us and walked away. The main dining area was empty, so they weren't that busy. We wound up going to the Driftwood down the street where the service and the food was great.

We are here on vacation and came to the Mackinac grille because we've been here before and it was good then. Something has drastically changed. The service is absolutely abominable. The food was bland and cooked incorrectly. The service is super slow. Went half of our meal without drinks. And when we got drinks filled, half of us went without drinks. We had to ask someone else to get our bills and it took 3 trips back to the table before our bills were brought. We won't be coming back when we are back for vacation.

Abby was great, food was great, and view was great! We sat out on their patio, weather was perfect for some out door diner. Could see boats coming and going. Wife got the stuffed flounder and I got the beef pastie. It's been years since I've last had a pastie but I think it was better than I remember them being. Wife loved the stuffed flounder. It was her birthday and they even bring you out a little birthday cake. Got a fudge Sunday to go with it, the Sunday was loaded with fudge. Only complain was not eating here earlier in our trip as we would have stopped here more than once. Next trip this place was definitely be a priority stop.

Awful!!!! Used to go there years ago and liked it. Now, not good!!!! Waitress didn't know much. My son found a hair in his food and we politely told the waitress-- he had barely eaten anything. She asked if he wanted a new meal, he said no. After getting the bill, the order was left on the bill. Well, that's your tip. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice-- you're not gonna fool me no more!

Very over priced food not worth your time you can get better food from a bar. Had to take my food to a different waitress because our waitress never came back over to check on us. Steak was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.. When she did finally bring the steak back it was just okay very tuff. Not worth $21.00. I will definitely not return to this place and will definitely tell all my friends to stay away as well.

Ordered an appetizer 10 minutes before we ordered our meal. 20 minutes later we were told they were running behind, 20 more minutes later, after everyone around us who came in after us already had their meal, still no appetizer. Was told it's because 3 busses came in. I said that would explain it if it weren't for the fact that everyone around us who came in after us already had their meals and we still didn't have our appetizer. 5 minutes later our appetizer shows up with our meals. My friend ordered the garlic parmesan chicken, and it was so bad she couldn't eat it. Told the server and he said I'll let the cooks know, and took it away. When the bill came, the chicken was still on the bill. I said you need to remove it and he said he will ask, but he doubts it. It was ultimately taken off, but what a horrible experience. A waste of almost two hours of our day. We won't be back.

I give it two stars due to the fact that the waiter was great. The food was HORRIBLE the tavern steak was ordered medium was brought out well done the meatloaf that I ordered was ice cold in the center. Asked for the manager the server came over super apologetic but never asked to remake anything just offered for free dessert. Finally after getting to the center of the meatloaf and finding out that it was cold demanded manager who came out. She was super nice as was server comped the steak and cut the bill for the meatloaf in half. It was super hot inside on the patios. I won't be going back for food but server and management are great. Definitely try something else if you go there.

Did not dislike totally, just was not a great experience. Waitress took a long time to come to table. She did not appear to be busy. There was a lot of horseplay by bus staff. Waitress did not know menu. Food was average at best. Not saying not to eat here, experience was not enjoyable .
