The perfect place to get the atmosphere of t b e Island. The service was excellent!
Excellent food with wonderful service. Highly recommend for everyone to try.
Absolutely delicious food. My husband had a prime rib and he said it was wonderful, tasty and cooked to perfection. I had the Whitefish fillet that was outstanding. The best I've ever had. Our waiter was very friendly. I casually mentioned it was our 50th wedding anniversary and our waiter remembered and after our meal he brought us a delicious chocolate dessert that was outstanding with a candle on it. We highly recommend the Woods Restaurant.
It was outstanding. Very highly recommended. The best dinning place for me. It is my favorite.
Friendly staff, very cool location. We went up on a Sunday afternoon, so they weren't running their normal lunch menu. I don't know if this is still true, but about ten years ago, they had some of the best Crème Brûlée my family ever had. My wife and I actually went up there specifically for the duckpin bowling alley. If you are a bowling fan, or just appreciate history, the Woods is definitely worth a visit. Very unique experience. We were able to play with some local residents, so that added to the experience.
I haven't been there in a while, but I do remember the experience.
As we got there via carriage ride, it was beautiful. We got seated near the far end of the restaurant, but the ambiance was amazing and the live performers were doing a great job. It distracted us from the wait, and the waiter was very nice, attended to our needs. I had some venison, and it was delicious. And the duckpin bowling was a lot of fun after the restaurant. The only thing I could complain about is the price was a little high, but the food was well worth it, and the sauce, some red wine vinaigrette, was very salty and bitter. Overall, continue the good work, you guys!
Great atmosphere excellent food superb service Bowling Alley
Enjoyed the service (it was excellent) and the food was great. Upscale yet cozy. Well worth the trip out there. BTW, as someone else pointed out I would not walk. My wife and I did bike but the weather was cool so we did not work up a sweat getting there. But a carriage is the more elegant way to get there.
Excellent food, very cool vibe, and a nice blend of casual and upscale atmospheres. This place is tough to get to, since you'll need a carriage/taxi to get to the restaurant for sure. It's way too far to walk or even bike. Reservations are recommended. It's a very cool place to eat, and the Bavarian vibe is awesome. The food is excellent as well. Wiener Schnitzel is very, very good, and though it's expensive, it's not overpriced for an upscale meal.
