Room was small. But was upgraded at no charge when wed found out the heating in the room was not working. The girl working the desk was real nice and friendly

The location of the clocktower inn is in a location not far from the 101 freeway, I stayed here for a powerlifting meet at the KO Gym which was only a 5min walk away. The inn itself is very nice and the staff including front desk was amazing, my wife and I had room in which the heater was not working, not only did they move us without any fuss but they put us in an upgraded room with a balcony that overlooks the park and a fireplace in room! Honestly for the money I couldn't be much happier, the bed was very comfortable, and the inn itself was quiet! We were located on the second floor which had an elevator for convenience as well. In the morning we had a basic continental breakfast (waffles cereals coffee or juice muffinsthe basics) it was well received and always an unexpected perk in this price range.

We spent Sat. night Dec 2 for the Wine Walk which was directly behind the hotel. FANTASTIC location, but the service & hotel is questionable.
They cut corners. Bathroom floor was so dirty probably 2-3 weeks since last swept. We had about 3 "wipes" worth of toilet paper upon check in. The iron was missing which was promptly provided. Closest rack but no hangers (we got some). The TV would not come on no matter what we did. We called the front desk and a manager came to our room and cited the City was using too much power for our TV to work. Ok the lights are on and everything works but the TV? Maybe she thought we just fell off a turnip truck? Since her explanation made no sense whatsoever.
We used to stay here about a decade ago but it's definitely changed ownership and/or management. We received a $40 discount for our stay but the problem is we love the location yet never want to stay there again. The property would have to be upgraded to it's former glory which is our hope once this review is seen.response / report this review -

Expensive, pot smokin no heater or air conditioning and had to dodge drunks on the way over hear. What's not to love about this place.

Perfect place to stay in Ventura that's super close to everything! Very clean and comfortable and they also have the best continental breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.

This is the second year we have stayed here. This time we were really disappointed. The room was really musty. It was hard.to.smell anything.but mold. There was so much mold in the shower and on the shower curtain. It was gross. That is.just poor cleaning. The breakfast was very good. The bed was clean and comfortable. The place.is.getting very run.down. Not sure if we will be back. It is very close to.the beach and the fairgrounds so we like that.

The customer service was awesome. And for the money it is a good value. I didn't rate higher because the room wasn't as clean as it should be. I have an AirBnb cleaning service. I was disappointed to see the duvet had stains on it that were covered by a decorative runner, the shower curtain needs replacing as it has mildew and stains on it and the sink has mildew around the faucet. All things that take just a few extra minutes and minimal money to fix. And the mattress is older and I would suggest a padded cover or replacement. It's in a great location and despite the traffic, is well isolated so I couldn't hear the noise. It's decorated very cute. I kept my rating at a 4 because of the customer service and the value. Truly believe my complaints are an east fix.

When I spent a night at The Clocktower Inn I was very satisfied with the rooms as well as the pizza delivery that was located next to the inn. The beds were queen sized and had clean sheets, there was also a good condition television. I was pleased with the restroom too because there was enough towels and hand soap. After staying the night there was a free breakfast that had a wide variety of morning foods. Overall I was very pleased with the rooms and the service.

Pretty disappointed for the price I paid. Windows have handles but don't open, huge spider web on lamp upon arrival, plugs are weak, knobs on air conditioner missing and it doesn't work. I've stayed in better Motel 6 rooms than this.

The clock tower in is currently undergoing remodeling. The lobby area was a mess as construction workers were installing new tile on the floor. The room we stayed in had no telephone. The faucet in the bathtub was consistently dripping. The stopper in the toliet would occasionally fail. The adjacent private patio to the room was literally a mess. The restrooms for the conference room was not maintained. The inn does have potential to become a four or five star motel.

I didn't stay here. Only visited my grandparents --who *were* staying there-- while they were in town. The place was cozy and clean and had a nice, beachy, rustic vibe to it. Nice sized bathroom and a beautiful view. Only complaint I had personally wass there was a whole mess of bird poo all over the stairway and some of the patios. I'm sure keeping that cleaned up would be a full time job, but it seems as though more could be done.

Although I rarely use the word, 'quaint' would be the best description of this place. We visited Ventura on our way north from LA and liked the unique layout of the place so we stayed. Vesta was working at the front desk and she is wonderfully welcoming, personable, and helpful. The courtyard where breakfast is served is an interesting and calm place to unwind a bit in the evening and/or get ready in the morning for the day ahead. The place was quiet and clean. Reminded me of very nice places I've stayed while traveling outside the US actually. The rooms are dated and could use some maintenance TLC, but for the price and location, they were more than sufficient. If you're looking for a chain hotel, then go stay at a chain hotel. If you're looking for a legit American standard 5-star hotel, then I would suggest the same (go find one and stay there and be happy). However if you want a reasonably priced, fantastically located, unique place to stay in Ventura, I would highly recommend Clocktower.
