This hotel is in a good location, and parking is plentiful which is a positive thing. Unfortunately the rooms leave a lot to be desired. We arrived to check into our room, which was supposed to have a king-sized bed. We walked into the room to discover 2 queen beds along with a disgusting, strong odor that resembles a men's high school locker room. I called the front desk to inform them of the odor, as well as inquire as to why the gentleman behind the front desk did not tell me upon check-in that the room I requested was not available? The gentleman responded in a confused manner, saying "we don't have any King rooms available". Great. Housekeeping came up to the room, and they were taken aback by the odor in the room. I decided to take a walk to the front desk to talk to someone who's in charge, or at least knows what's going on in the hotel. I spoke with a more seasoned representative who then told me that the guy who checked me in was "new". Then he addressed the strong odor in my room - as it turns out, there was a college basketball team staying in room the night before. Clearly housekeeping did not thoroughly clean this room because standing in it for a few minutes was completely unbearable. The representative was very kind, and offered rewards points for my trouble, which I appreciated. To be honest this was the worst experience I'd had at a Marriott property until the representative offered some points. This location clearly strives to accommodate a variety of customers, and that's totally fine - but if Marriott is hosting men's basketball teams regularly, then they need to make sure that housekeeping is properly airing out, and cleaning these rooms so that they can be enjoyable by all.
Good hotel. Everything was good. The bistro I had a evening meal there and the fries were overcooked. Service was good. Food quality at the bistro could be improved.
It was way nicer than the Camarillo one. And I liked the golf course
Convient location to UCSB. The room was very clean. The HVAC system was the quietest that I've ever witness. My only complaint was that the room rates were very expensive for this type of hotel.
Great clean new hotel. The Bistro (Starbucks) concept works real well and the service is outstanding.
The most special thing about this hotel is the staff. They sell grill hot dogs once a month and donate the money to charity. BRAVO! The manager donates the money to buy the hot dogs and the staff donates their time to cook them. During my stay I was the worst type of guest. I had packages delivered asked lots of questions at the front desk the
work's and they were nice from beginning to end.
Get out. Netflix? Awesome. And clean. And super nice staff.
Nice hotel, helpful staff. A bit pricey, but not out of line for the area, especially in view of the quality.
Hint: If traveling from Southern California, take Amtrak. The Goleta station is only about 2 miles away, and the complementary hotel shuttle will pick you up if you ask the front desk. As fast or faster than driving, and a much more pleasant trip.
I met a guest to have a drink and visit. Ordered a drink and appetizer. The drink was adequate and the spicy Thai wings were reasonably good all in all. The gas fire pits are a nice.touch in the courtyard.
Great location and service. Made travel easy. Parking right next to the room. Had food available in the lobby for purchase. Recommend.
Love this hotel. Clean and quiet. It's just a 10-minute drive to Santa Barbara too.
Nice and clean room. Very nice staffs, business section provides free access computer and printer. One of the best Marriott around the country.
The rooms are really nice and spacious, plenty of appropriate decor and high quality in pretty much every way. The service is excellent and the location is right next to UCSB which is very convenient.
