Great customer service. Very friendly staff. Room was nice and clean. Furniture looked a bit chipped and some of it definitely needs to be repainted or switched out, otherwise very nice!

This is a very big property with a beautiful view of the ocean. Nice pool and amenities. The zoo is right behind the hotel so you can walk there. Bus stop is also conveniently located nearby.

Great location, right beside Cabrillo hall on the beach which is where we were headed. Spent some time in the outdoor pool and hottub with friends. Friendly staff helped us pick the best available room. Rooms were clean and welcoming. Check-in/out was smooth and all staff was friendly.

I got the beach front view room , first of all this place needs major upgrades. I was hoping paying this much money I would have gotten a nice room. As I walked in I can smell the room smelled dirty and musty. Bathroom smelled like it's been cleaned with one rag that has was used to clean every bathroom in the hotel. I had double queen room. One of the beds as soon as you lay down you can feel the springs from mattress on your back. Pillows way to soft, you need to put 2 pillows together to make them work. Keep in mind my wife and myself slept on top of blankets and did not undo the beds. Last you can hear people walking and kids running on the floor above us. It felt more like staying in an old apartment. I wouldn't recommend to my family or friends. It's a shame with a name like the Hyatt.

Booked room though 3rd party site that stated an ocean view room would be included. Instead, I got sent back to the Santa Barbara house, which is 2 streets back. Called and spoke with Alejandra, a manager, who had stated an ocean view room would be an additional$100 per night. I was willing to negotiate for the upgrade, but not to the tune of $100.
Very disappointed in how management handled this. For this reason alone, I don't recommend this property.response / report this review -

Only gets three stars instead of two, because i got a decent deal through priceline, and the staff is wonderful and trying their best to make the best out of this tired old hotel I guess the view and the location across the beach are positives as well However, i cannot repeat enough, this place is in dire need of full renovation. Carpets are stained, beds are simply busted and offer no support, and other furniture also feels and looks like the better days were in mid 80's Even with the view, location and the pleasant staff, i would not stay here again until they completed major renovations, or dropped the price to at least a third of what they're charging. It's a shame because instead of complementing the beauty of the location and Santa Barbara, Hyatt is offering below average accommodations for inflated price, playing the lazy card. I do a lot of road trips, and stayed in $50/night places that were better than this.

We've enjoyed our time at this hotel. The location is GREAT and the view is even better. I will say that this doesn't feel like the Hyatt "Centric' brand. It feels as though Hyatt was a little bit over their skis in converting this location, as the furniture and rooms feel dated. Overall, great place but the rates should be reduced until they invest in necessary renovations.

I’ve stayed here a couple times and always had great experiences. All the staff at the front desk, valet, restaurant, and bar are very friendly and helpful. The hotel, like most architecture in Santa Barbara, is in the style of Spanish colonial and spread out over several buildings. While you can pay nightly to park your car on the premises, I’ve always been able to find free street parking nearby. Downtown is a short drive away or a leisurely walk on a sunny day. The beach is just steps away.

I would not stay here again. Everything was good until we checked out and noticed a 250 dollar charge on our card. I called and they said it was because we smoked in the room, which we never did! We had our 2 kids with us and would never do that! What we did do was smoked outside and then instead of littering in front of their hotel, we threw our cigarette butts in the garbage. There was no garbage by the entrance so we just threw them in our room garbage. According to the manager, we should have just littered in front of their hotel! Try to do the right thing and get in trouble for it. Then she said she didn't believe that we didn't smoke in the room! Wow! Ask our kids, or the bartender that watched us walk out the doors and back in!

While this hotel was rated a 4 star hotel online and was affordable compared to the other 4 star hotels in Santa Barbara, I would say this was closer to a 3 star. We had an issue with the toilet not flushing and there weren't a ton of extra amenities like those expected with a 4 star hotel. They did give you 3 things to choose from during checkout that were then delivered to the room. That was a nice addition. It is very close to the beach too which is a plus!

This Hyatt does not disappoint. The restaurant is very pleasant. Nice pool and gym. It is just a short walk across the street to the beach and a 20min walk to the wharf. The single king bed rooms are very spacious and well laid out. The staff is extremely professional and courteous. The only negative is the $28 nightly parking fee. To avoid this cost you may park along the street if you are able to find a spot. It isn't difficult to find a spot as long as you arrive to the hotel before dark.

My wife and I came here for a few nights to celebrate a babymoon. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was clean and we'll maintained and the location was excellent. About a block from the beach makes it very easy to talk late or early walks on the beach. The pool looked clean even though we didn't use it. There is a nice fire pit at the pool which we did utilize and had a great time. All in all we had a great time at our stay and would love to come back.
