I love the Clarendon vibe. Think 1960' s cool. The rooms always clean, the crowd hip (without the pretentiousness), the drinks well prepared and the food is usually good (there has been several restaurants in the hotel over time). I've always had a good time here, regardless of the event.

Retro styled rooms, at least from the 1 I just had. Just be aware they have other charges, so expect some more money you need to shell out when you stay here. Breakfast is currently at the Tranquilo Restaurant at the ground floor but your budget is $10 each day. Anything extra you payor I must have been charged more.
Service is generally OK and helpful. The place is walking distance from the nearest stop of the light rail and the buses. If you're not driving, that can be an issue.response / report this review -

Me and my fiance stayed for four days. I loved the pool/ heated pool. It was comfortable and quiet. Very friendly staff and my room was perfect for the four day stay. I also loved the rooftop. Very relaxing and beautiful view.

A little caught off guard at first. But It turned out to be wonderful. The staff were awesome and super friendly. They helped me with everything that I needed. I also loved the décor, the whole retro thing works and the rooms have so much character. I definitely will stay here again.

Excellent renovation of an old downtown building. The pool is gorgeous, the spa is decently priced and it is always lively in the restaurant and bar. The service is top-notch (complimentary snacks, candy & drinks for guests!) and the rooms are laid out in a simple pattern so all are easily accessible. Only downfall is that there is only one entrance/exit (although there are plenty of emergency exits)- so be prepared to face the concierge with every exit and return.

We did not stay at the hotel itself but it was definitely a modern hotel, with very contemporary art and furniture all about the building. There is a beautiful performance area on the roof of the building as well as a bar, Tranquilo. Pricey drinks but a really awesome spot to hangout and hear some music!

In LOVE with this hotel. Quaint, cute, any adjective you can think of to describe a unique hip vibe of a hotel that still succeeds in being comfortable. The staff were super friendly. Upon arrival, I told the front desk staff that I was interested in maybe staying an extra night and she recommended looking at a third party site such as hotel tonight because they would price match with that company. They have free snacks at all hours of the day and they provided us with free breakfast vouchers. Another great feature was they provided free rental bikes as well. I will stay here again when I'm in Phoenix.

Trendiest hotel in midtown Phoenix. Very cool decor throughout. Rooms are small but nice and modern. Restaurant on site has great happy hour specials. Roof top bar is the best part of the Clarendon. Small cabana pool scene here, too.

Hotel had a cool boutique style vibe. However, watch out for:
They charge $10 for each parking spot you need. (Shouldn't hotels provide free parking for at least 1 spot?)
The AC is insufficient, it was probably 80 degrees at best during my stay.
Toilet paper was super cheap (thin and itchy).
My room was not ready 2 hours past my check-in time, the maids were still cleaning/getting it ready. Then they upgraded me to poolside view but charged me for the upgrade?
I drank 1 of the Fiji room waters and was charged for 2, I called and was refunded for the other water.
It seemed as though the hotel was trying to cut corners in cost. In the end, staff was very friendly and provided great hospitality but I cannot justify spending another stay for the cost of this hotels room rates.response / report this review -

Hip hotel in downtown Phoenix. Comfy bed and nice shower with five shower heads. The rooftop bar and the jazz trio that was playing was pretty perfect to chill out on with my wife after a long trip to the grand canyon and Sedona. Also the restaurant had a very good brunch.

The Clarendon is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Phoenix. Amenities include a unique pool and hot tub which allow for lots of room to enjoy both, a spa with quality massages offered, cabanas for rent, a great restaurant on premises, funky-chic rooms, and a chill lounge-type rooftop bar that often has live music or other events. All in all, a great place to stay if you are visiting or want to go on a stay-cation. Keep an eye out for discounts during off-season months.

Hotel is small but modern. The Front desk assistants were friendly. We had cocktails at the rooftop bar and lounge. The bar tender offered great service. It was a little chilly, but no worries they had heaters. A three piece band was playing a variety of songs. They are good; quite a talented trio. It is family friendly I gather because there were quite a few kids up there dancing and running around. They were actually well behaved. It was an enjoyable evening and it exceeded my expectations.

What could have been a problem was promptly handled by their reservation agent Kay/Kayla?
Making reservations through a third party can be problematic but since I had personally been to this hotel when it first opened and many times since I decided to actually stay here. When I booked the Hotel online I noticed that many of the rooms had two small beds? This obviously would not work for a newly dating couple and Kay/Kayla took care of it very professionally.
The room itself was a tad dark and the bathroom is small but the location and vibe of the hotel make up for the shortcomings of its age. Food is very good, service was great, and everyone was very accommodating during the entire stay.response / report this review -

We originally booked the hotel for only one night but enjoyed our stay so much we booked for an additional night. The staff was friendly and helpful, room service was prompt and they allowed dogs. The hotel itself is a bit dated but had been painted and updated nicely. The food was delicious and we took full advantage of their wine hour at the roof top bar. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.
