Service was excellent for our company Holiday party with appetizers and cocktails. Excellent seafood spread with crab legs, lobster, shrimp and oysters. Apps were delish. Drinks well poured. Nice private room on second floor.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. My Manhattan was almost as good at Nick's. The mixologists was very pleasant. The existence of taking the elevator to our for was awesome. We started with shaved Brussels sprouts, octopus and something I can't recall. But the octopus was the best I've had anywhere. It was so tender, I was expecting a little chewy, but not here. This was great. The Brussels sprouts were very good as well. Shaving them made a huge difference. For my entree I had the duck. It was so good. It came with more Brussels sprouts, convered in walnuts, and it was very crispy. A little over done, but still quite good. The service was excellent, we never wanted for anything, but it was never intrusive. We all had a great time. I can't wait to go back.

Attended a company dinner in one of the private rooms. The short ribs were tender and amazing. I tried the scallops too and they were also good. Even the bread was nice and warm. Everyone was pleased and happy with their meals. Excellent service.

Fantastic experience! Stumbled upon this gem while walking around the neighborhood waiting for our reservation time at a nearby restaurant. I hate to cancel a reservation but the menu at the Boarding House just called my name. Felt very welcome and relaxed from walking in the door. The Sazerac was top notch and the wine list, while not extensive, had some very nice selections. My wife and I couldn't get past the appetizer menu and we chose a few of these. It's hard to pick a favorite. The grilled octopus on edamame humus was exceptional. The beet salad with warm squash was fresh and tasty and the mussels and frites we're a great addition. Fabulous fruit cobbler to finish it off. Our server, Lauren, was very attentive and also the mixologist of the above mentioned Sazerac. Many cudos to her.

Shame we had such a bad time as we were revisiting after a much better experience a couple of years ago. Too expensive and pretty poor all round. If you're a vegetarian, you might want to avoid this place. This is my main. A plate of incredibly salty vegetables in soy sauce. Why would you do that? Other options are all mushroom based and uninventive. I eat everything without meat or mushrooms, but the vegetarian menu is really bad. I've given a star for the duck egg with polenta starter, which is nice. The waiter seemed nice but not very interested. My partner's chicken was really bland and everyday, despite the waiter saying she should definitely try it. So disappointed with this place.

Went here for valentine's day and had the pre-fixe valentine's menu with wine pairings. It was absolutely amazing! Tried steak tartar for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The beef tenderloin was the best I'd ever had and the tort for dessert was perfect! Special occasion or just for a romantic dinner, give it a try!!

First class date restaurant with inventive to traditional dishes full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Even the Amish Chicken had some real flair and as savory as it gets. The wine list is impeccable and the service was friendly and fun. The decor is classic with some stunning architectural touches. My new favorite restaurant in Chicago.
