Food was ok. Staff is ok, except one bartender who went out of her way to make sure we had a nice evening. It has a good location, but could use some improvement with the staff and the food.

Are you asking about the restaurant or the bar? I must ask because the restaurant is more than satisfactory! I am not saying it is perfect by any means, but I was satisfied with the restaurant experience every time. Last time I went for dinner I ordered the reuben (what? Tom got the reuben? He's so stereotypical! Maybe I should have gotten a burger, there is a reason why burgers are the quintessentially American food, and at a place like this you can't go wrong with the burger, right?), but the reuben was just fine. I also noticed, the first time I visited (nearly 2 years ago!) that they had "white bean hummus" on the menu. Excuse me? Hummus is ALWAYS, made from chickpeas, yet you dare refer to that fart-paste as hummus? But I digress I could happily dine here again, yes the service was somewhat slow/unresponsive last time, but I am patient.
My problem is with the nightlife setup. Great restaurant, terrible bar. First off, the music was too loud. I don't care for settings where the music is too loud to talk or even hear over. Maybe I am some kind of "freak" but I prefer to have a comfortable conversation, not a setting where I am surrounded with sweaty feral humans whose ability to communicate verbally has been negated by the music volume. I don't get it, what's the appeal? Unless one is deaf, or otherwise aurally impaired, I don't see the appeal. Were I able to communicate with sign language (and relatively insensitive to painfully loud music of mediocre-at-best quality), I probably would be able to enjoy such an experience. I do not like being disoriented by deafeningly loud music combined with poor lighting, nor do I enjoy being limited to grunts, wild gesticulation, and pheromones like some wild animal, or attempting to communicate telepathically. Maybe I have some degree of Asperger's but I just don't get it. Also, the bar surface was all wet and sticky. Spilled drinks are inevitable, just clean that $hit up!
SUMMARY:
The restaurant is EXCELLENT!
The bar SUCKS! (Unless your idea of a good time consists of MDMA, strobe lights, and NGST-NGST-NGST-NGST music.)response / report this review -

Lobster burger is Awesome!. Had the lobster burger and I really enjoyed it. The sweet potato fries were good but over hyped. Also tried the Mac & Cheese which was excellent.

Giving this 1 star because I can't give it 0. Management does not communicate expectations to the staff effectively. I called in advance of a Michigan game day asking if they take reservations in the lounge; the employee on the phone said they take no reservations but she suggested that I show up 1 hour before the game starts to get a seat in the lounge. The next day, I show up early for the game as told, and come to find out that the entire lounge is reserved and I wouldn't be able to watch the game. NOBODY at any point tried to accommodate me or provide an alternative solution to keep me as a customer. I received two different answers from two different people about the same situation. Everyone needs to be on the same page at any organization. Needless to say, I'm taking my game day dollars elsewhere.

Make reservation if you are planning to watch Michigan football there. We showed up an hour before game time and all the upstairs tables were reserved. We ended up sitting at the bar and enjoyed the drinks, food and atmosphere.

Not only did we get lied to, the bouncers told us they are open till 3 am and let us buy a bottle at 2:30am when they actually close at 2:30. They said sorry for buying a 350$ bottle 10 min before we close but we won't let you drink it.. I understand that we got a table and were willing to pay extra for bottle service but when we pay extra for nothing that frustrates me. It was disrespectful and they laughed at us which made it even worse. I liked this place but they lie to make money. It's sad. I won't be coming back.

Went here on two separate occasions, once for dinner, the other upstairs at the bar for drinks and dancing. I enjoyed both! Our food was good, as were the drinks (wish I was able to have more at dinner, our waitress didn't come by much). Dancing was fun, the DJ played a good mix of current music and throwbacks to the 90's-00's.

Great atmosphere. The staff was amazing. We had a group of 12 for my cousins bachelorette party and they made a reservation for us on a Saturday night. Dinner was delicious, so were The drinks. I'd recommend The Dirty Deeds. The host escorted us to a large booth upstairs in the club after dinner. Great location to start the evening on Hubbard street.

Overall: A great fall back option for burgers and general pub fare. Nothing mind blowing, but it definitely is a step above the usual.
The good: The burgers here, while not mind blowing, are solid, as is the other food. I've had salads, burgers, and several of the apps over time, and they are all pretty good. Food came out hot and quickly and the service is friendly. The atmosphere is neat and obviously music focused. The music playing is also good.
The not-so-good: I waiter never brought our non-water drinks until we asked when our food came. The prices are a little high, I can get a better burger for the same prices at many other places in Chicago.

Met up with 3 of my friends here for dinner & drinks because we wanted to watch the games. We showed up at 6:30 and were promptly seated. We ordered a round of drinks, followed by an appetizer (chickpea hummus) and our meal orders. 30 minutes after our 1st round, we got another round of drinks. It took about 45 minutes for our hummus to arrive, which was concerning but not a big deal. By the time I finished my second beer it was somewhere around 7:35 and the food still hadn't shown up. Our waitress recognized this and brought us another round of beers on the house. My friend told her we were on a somewhat tight schedule in the hopes of speeding things up. A few minutes after that one of the managers came by with a round of shots to compensate us for our patience. I was shocked. It took roughly another 15 minutes before our food showed up, however my order was incorrect. I had to wait another 10-12 minutes for mine to arrive. Fortunately, the good service and free drinks made me not think about my hunger. Our waitress provided the bill to us as I was finishing up my meal, which came out to $92 for four people. We provided our credit cards and she rang us up. When she came back she told us that she had knocked off a few of the items to compensate us - the total was $62! All in all, we essentially got 3 rounds of beers, a meal, and a round of shots for $15 a piece, which is unheard of in River North. I want to thank all the staff who took care of us! This was a very satisfying experience.

Always a good time at Rockit with something for everyone. Good music and good food when you need to take a break from drinking. Upstairs is the party and downstairs you can relax and actually talk to your group.

I liked this spot. The energy of the place is great. Very good live music and food. The service is why I knocked off one star though. Waitress didn't do the best at refilling drinks or checking in on us. However, it was a overall good experience and I'd go back.
