This is a cozy building with a ton of different restaurants and bars, all with unique atmospheres. Good place to hang out with large groups of friends. Fairly easy to find parking downtown. Its a nice venue for Artprize. It flows people thru fairly well. However the building does have a dark dingy feeling in the hallways and stairways.

The Bob is a great place for adult fun. This past visit we were there for a wedding reception. The food was delicious. The staff were super accommodating and friendly and I couldn't think of a better place to have a wedding reception.

Judson steak house is one of the main reasons I head out to Grand Rapids. The bartender "Rip" is a main reason I go back or and over. The laughs, the beers, the food, it's a perfect mixture of fun food and drink. One of my favorite bars in North America

An awesome place to get a fine dining experience in downtown Grand Rapids! Unique and provides a few different options of food styles. Especially fun to touch during the art prize weeks in GR when different artists' works are displayed all around the building both inside and out.

The B.O.B. sucks! They over charge for their beer! Do not trust what is on the website! It is wrong! Be prepared to pay at minimum $15 for a growler fill! Their website says $9! Beware! It's a scam! Stay away! Take all business elsewhere to an honest brewery!

Went tonight for my birthday. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Server was great and very prompt but, it took 20 minutes for me to get my drink I ordered from the bar. My entree arrived before my drink. I even asked my husband if I indeed ordered the drink and he replied yes. When the waiter finally came with the drink he said they had to wait on something from the back to make it. I would have understood if he had told me that prior to me waiting on it. A simple "sorry it's taking a minute because they ran out of a mix" would have been perfect and I wouldn't have gotten upset. Don't think we will be going back.

I am not a Michigan-ite, so BOB was explained as meaningBig Old Building. Hope that is correct, but it really doesn't matter. The building was big, old, and beautifully restored to its original state, or as close as possible. The brick, and timbers were awesome, but not nearly as good as the specialty beers and steak dinner I had. Best I've had in quite some time can't wait to go back.

We were super impressed from the initial phone call reservation to the end of dinner. We were a visiting soccer team from the Metro Detroit area and had called for a team dinner. They fully accommodated our group of 40+ with ease. Very impressed and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone visiting the area. Food was fantastic! And the building itself was amazing. Thanks and we will definitely be back!

One of the most unique dining and entertainment complex you will ever visit. Constantly reinventing itself. A true gem in beer cities crown.

Absolutely horrible! I have never been so disrespected. The bouncer was very physical with me grabbing my wrist to check my wristband and incredibly rude. This is a mediocre bar at best and workers treat it like it's the hottest ticket in townNOT!

Great beer, food, music, variety, and hall rental
    ORDER THE PEANUT BUTTER PORTER!
    - The B.O.B is much nicer than it used to be, especially since they got rid of "The Crush." In it's place now is H.O.M.E. - a much more welcoming bar.
    - Awesome place for a reception! I am also a photographer and shot a reception on the 3rd floor. It's a very nice room with heavy timber and brick, it's own private bar, and dedicated restrooms (shares with Dr Grins).
    - Several places to eat and a variety of scenery all under one roof make it a great choice for those that aren't quite sure what they want to do. Bored in one room? move to another and change it up. Parking CAN be close if you get there early enough.
    - The food is good (I like the kabobs) but can be a little pricey. It is downtown, so you should expect a little bit of a price jump.

    Why not 5 stars?
    - The most frustrating thing about this place is it gets BUSY. It becomes nearly impossible to get a bartender to serve you. When it's busy, they clearly play favorites.
    - Like I said, the food is good, but not worth the 1+ hr wait sometimes.
    - No bathrooms on the main floor is very annoying.

My advice? go early, before they start charging cover (I think they start charging around 8 or 9pm) find a good table, order food, get a few drinks, then go walk around at your leisure. Order drinks well before you need them. And go enjoy the dueling pianos at Bobarino's on the 2nd floor or the live Band at H.O.M.E on the main floor.

I have been visiting the Big Ol' Building for several years and have only experienced the slow service as described by others during busy times. Which, during busy times in downtown Grand Rapids you can't expect speedy service anywhere. There is always great food at every restaurant on every level and great drink options. The thing I love most is the variety of venues under one roof. I've been a Mug Club member since 2010 and though I can never seem to remember my mug number they always find my glass when I visit. Great benefits in this club, by the way.

Lots of stuff going on in the B.O.B. Its a fun place to hang out and listen to some bands, see some comedy and grab some food. Prices are a little high for GR but not terrible. The beer they brew isn't that great but there are plenty of other options. Excited to see what 20 Monroe live adds to the B.O.B.s atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone that is okay with big crowds.
