I was VERY impressed with the size of this aquarium! The way it's set up is really interesting and I love the different views of the large tanks! The grounds are really pretty and I'm glad we took the extra 10-15 minutes to walk around. We've been to a few aquariums and for the price, this was well worth it!! Took us about 4 hours to get through the whole thing. We didn't stop and read EVERYTHING but we did take quite a few pictures and hung out at a few exhibits for a bit. There is lots of great restaurants within walking distance so I highly suggest taking advantage of your paid parking and going for lunch or dinner afterwards.

Love the aquarium, me and my wife are membership owners and let me tell you that it was 100% worth it! We are planning on renewing or membership when it comes up. The kids love this place, the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable! Divers are cool and very willing to stop what they are doing to take a photo with you! Been going here for years and still every time find something new that we did not see previously. Price for admission is a little steep but if your planning on going more than just once, I recommend spending the extra 30$ just to get the year membership to go as much as you please!

Had a very fun time with my girlfriend. I’d definitely recommend it as a nice place to have a date and possibly could be an ice breaker. We enjoyed both the ocean and river exhibits. There was only one thing that was a little weird and that’s when we entered the river exhibit. We had to take a photo together which wasn’t the issue but they also didn’t really give us the option not to. Fast forward to the end of the exhibit they showed us our photos already printed out. Well we really weren’t planning on taking any photos and we didn’t really like the pictures so we denied to purchase them. My issue now is paper was wasted. Maybe show us the photos on a screen/ monitor so we can decide then without wasting any paper? Just a thought/ suggestion. We love the aquarium and will be back.

This is a great aquarium. It is easy to navigate and the exhibits are great. The staff are friendly and very informative; we spent time talking to several of them, and they were so helpful answering questions about the animals. We loved the touch tanks for sturgeon and sting rays, and really enjoyed the programs we saw on otters, lemurs, and penguins. This is great for families with kids, but also adults. It's easy to walk to restaurants nearby when you're ready for lunch. I appreciated that they offer military/veteran discounts on admission.

Excellent parking, able to leave vehicle all day flat $9. Aquarium's policy unlimited entry what a plus, since SO many other things to explore in area. Toured salt water aquarium first. Walked across Walnut St walking bridge to vibrant North shoreCoolidge Park, carousel, quaint shops & cafes. Saw view from Bluff Area. Then enjoyed the fresh water aquarium. Delicious dinner choices right there without moving vehicle. VERY tourist friendly.

We enjoyed our experience at the aquarium. Staff was super friendly and helpful. My favorite exhibit was the otters. The aquarium is divided into two buildings- the river journey and the ocean journey. The river journey building is extremely well laid out. The architecture is very interesting. We enjoyed weaving in and out of the main hallway into the little side exhibits. We were very impressed with the river journey overall. My only complaint with the river side is that the glass seemed warped in the tanks, and it made me dizzy to look through it. The ocean journey building itself is not as exciting as the river one, although I found those animals more interesting. I think that building must be older and in need of an update. We were a group of 4 adults and it took us approximately 1.5 hours to go through both buildings.

There's a reason the aquarium is set in the prime site of the city - it's the crown jewel of things to do in Chattanooga. Decent prices for the size of it, and the variety of exhibits. You can get quite close to many of the animals (penguins, specifically) and the "petting" areas (stingrays, sturgeon) are popular with our toddlers. Lots of friendly volunteer staff everywhere. This aquarium is one of the reasons we decided to visit Chattanooga, and it didn't disappoint!

Absolutely worth the price of admission. To start with, the architecture is more stunning on the inside than the outside. You get to see the sky through those glass ceilings and in one of the buildings, they created a multi-level walkway from which you can see large aquariums full of hundreds of species. There are themed rooms including one full of jellyfish. I'm personally afraid of being surrounded by jellyfish, but I was so blown away by how they laid out the room that I couldn't help but walk around and enjoy.
There are some special features thrown in. For one example, there's a measuring device attached to a speaker so you can literally hear the electrical current the eel is creating.
There are two touch tanks. My favorite was where you can stay as long as you want and touch sting rays. Very enjoyable for adults AND children.
The guides/employees are knowledgeable and prepared to answer any questions. I learned some things about sharks and otters. Very interesting.
If you are there in the afternoon, you'll get to see feeding times for some of the animals.
I would absolutely recommend visiting this attraction. Money well spent.

One of the Crown Jewels of Chattanooga, the Tennessee Aquarium is very special. Such variety and diversity of attractions. I love the penguin display. And the otters. And the multi-level HUGE aquarium is so beautiful and impressive. Get season passes; you can’t take it all in with one visit.

We were blown away by this aquarium and their attention to delivering a quality experience for all. My family and I took a couple days to visit the area. The aquarium was our number one priority to take our children. We all walked away loving the time spent learning and engaging underwater life. We also enjoyed spending time in Downtown Chattanooga! Great city.

Great aquarium. We came on July 2, so it was very busy. I expected a little more attraction wise. The big issue that we had was someone tried to get into my backpack to steal stuff. I was taking high quality images, and had my camera bag with lenses and things. I sat down to change lenses, and found that all the zippers had been undone. Fortunately in the accessible pockets, there was nothing to steal. I know this isn't the aquariums fault, but none the less it really ruined my experience.

The TN Aquarium is a really neat place to visit. I especially enjoyed the ocean exhibit, but both buildings are very cool. I would recommend coming here for sure. I would advise people to get there before the aquarium opens. The lines can get long - both for the ticket window and at the entrances to both the river and ocean exhibits. Give yourself plenty of time - there's lots to see and do!

Had such an amazing time. The animals looked so well taken care off and happy. Having spent last weekend at a zoo, I could see a marked difference.

I felt like I had reversed to my childhood. Full of wonder. I loved the penguins, turtles (so many varieties of turtles) and the alligators. The jellyfish were amazing as well.

The aquarium is super rad and a great place to hang out. The otters are my absolute favorite and you cannot miss the butterfly room. The rivers of the world is a really neat exhibit too! They keep adding new exhibits and creatures so be sure to visit them again!

For families I like that there are two buildings so we can do one building each visit and it is not overwhelming. There are family restrooms and nursing rooms available for family needs.

The animals can be viewed from a stroller in many areas and the exhibits allow for little hands. There are some areas that are hands on and there are some basic animal encounters. Not amazing demonstrations but it gets attention of the visitors.

My son is two and loves seeing the scuba divers. They do interact with the kids through the glass which is great customer service. The best area is the top floor of the Ocean building. It features sting rays and you can touch them, which is fun for all ages. The butterfly garden is beautiful and has many butterflies, and you are encouraged to have them land on you.

Afterwards we love playing outside between the aquarium buildings in the river water feature. There are benches and space for kids to play and splash around. Street parking is only $1 an hour if you stay 2 hours or less. We have an annual pass and take advantage of this!
