While waiting up front for my food, I had to listen to a loud verbal assault on one of the employees, coming from the kitchen. There was a female screaming at someone for throwing away a plastic container. This must have been the world's most valuable plastic container, because she threw a tantrum for 5 minutes, full of obscenities and disrespect. When my wife complained to someone at the counter, they said, "It's OK, it's the head chef. She can do that." Since when is verbal abuse of an employee tolerated like this? Don't bring your children here. We won't be returning.

This has been a fav since college. The food is so delicious, and like artwork, in the mid pricey range but not expensive. The staff is usually friendly [in my experience]. You can veganize anything [at least I was able to] and the waffles are so bomb, so fluffy and piled with fruits! The chai is ok, but I'm a chai snobbut it's decent. Not the best. But it's a great place! Kinda crowded inside..can be loud.

Man, what has happened to Taste? This used to be our favorite breakfast spot. We went in there recently and the food was not great, the service wasn't either and I actually felt sick afterwards. I hope they can turn it around.

I'm to going to respond to the most recent reviews Today, I went to Taste for brunch to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday. (She wanted to go to SoBro Cafe, but it wasn't open yet.) I was HIGHLY disappointed in Taste. VERY disappointed

I've lived in MK for the past 15 years. I was around when Taste first opened. During that time, I've been to Taste quite often

Today's food was AWFUL. None of our sandwiches were seasoned to satisfaction Bland, quite bland. (As in: Hello? Salt meet Pepper.)

What were once the best pommes frites in Indy, are no more The quality of the food has gone downhill Steeply downhill. (Even my daughter who once enjoyed eating at the restaurant, decided to get a to-go box so she could pass the food onto her Father.)

I may be middle-aged, and half of my taste buds may be shot. But I know flavorful food when I taste it. Unfortunately, Taste is not it. A Gordon Ramsey makeover may be in order.v

I should've listened to my eleven year old: I should've waited for SoBro Cafe to open fifteen minutes later

I shall not be back I give three stars for loyalty for all these years, but I wonder: Maybe it deserves one star? You decide

I visited Taste Cafe & Marketplace on Thursday night for dinner. The place was not busy a I was a little concerned about that. But we were warmly greeted by Mark who did the best so our experience was great.
We order a bottle of Rosé that was crisp and refreshing. Dinner was amazing. It took a little while to be served but the wait was worthy.
The truffle fries were the best I ever had! The crispy Tilapia sandwich and all other items we ordered were fantastic! Taste is great restaurant to visit us you are in Broadripple!

Really disappointed in our experience. They've produced really great food in the past. My wife had a waffle, the fruit looked like it had been cut up about a week ago, was pretty gross. The service pretty much treated you like they didn't want you there, and while they weren't very busy, ran out of coffee & water and only refilled after a line of about 10 people were standing asking for more. Nor did they have basic amenities in their bathrooms. Not kid friendly. Sad to see a good thing fall apart.

The best croissants in town. The owner is a very nice lady. She is very professional and has great taste in what the south broad ripple patrons want and Like.

The food is incredible and reasonably priced. They serve their tartinis and sandwiches split in two (for sharing), so it's an excellent place for a date.

My girlfriend and I got two sandwiches from Taste and our experience is as follows. I got the roast beef. The bread seemed like is was old. Old to the point where it hurt my mouth to eat it. If it wasn't old then it was super hard. I am currently touching wounds in my mouth left by the bread. I'm going to to hand the phone to my girlfriend to adequately describe her experience. Okay this is Amanda, like John said the bread was old and hard. The inside of the veggie sandwich was slimy and room temperature without much flavor giving me the distinct feeling of eating a booger sandwich. Extra gross right? The only good part of the meal was the fries, but you have to work really hard to screw up fries. And even then, fast food fries are better and cheaper. All around bummer. John again. So that's it. Maybe an off day at Taste. If I posted the photo of Amanda's sandwich you'd understand better.

Overpriced. Mediocre food given the cost, several poor service experiences including a really weird interaction with the owner. Won't be going back. Only thing I'll miss is the pomme frites.

Ugh, I hate leaving this review but I use to love this place and it has slowly gone downhill. The customer service has always been hit or miss, but has really declined. The furniture is falling apart and literally on the floor, it was difficult finding a clean table even though they weren't busy when I arrived, and I watched a server barely clean one table and leave the rest of them dirty even though she knew they weren't clean. The floors were extremely dirty as well, and the last two times I have been there old food and lipstick have been on my cup or silverware. I only ordered a salad and it took nearly 30 minutes to get the salad, even though they weren't busy. I love the food, but sadly don't see myself coming back anymore :(

Food is excellent, but the service is absolutely atrocious. First time we came was a Sunday morning at 10:30AM. One person taking orders and two servers running food. It took 20 minutes to get through a line of five parties. No fault of the cashier, as she was also making coffee drinks, but the fact that management staffed 3 people to take and deliver orders on a Sunday morning is inane.

Waiter who delivered food was rude and haughty. I'm a millennial and a bit of a hipster myself, but neither of those designations gives you a right to be a deprecating egotist, particularly to paying (but certainly not tipping) customers. We live in the neighborhood, and there are plenty of other brunch options within walking distance where you will be served like a human being and just as satisfied with the food. Good riddance to high horse rubbish.
