Freshest yellowtail I’ve ever had. Impeccable service and such a friendly staff. An 11/10 experience.

The two rolls I ordered were delicious and the fish just melted in my mouth. I also ordered the miso soup and a hot green tea to stay warm on a rather chilly night; both were super tasty.

I have been going here for nearly 20 years and if you like authentic sushi ( not fruit filled saucy rolls) this is the place for you. Don't let the location of being on the cheesy Gas Lamp 5th ave fool you, this place is the real deal
Master Sushi Chef Maru serves up Uber fresh sushi /sashimi and I would say Taka is easily the best in San Diego.

Very nice Sushi restaurant. I had dinner there and the sushi was very fresh. I liked that they have 4 sushi chefs, so the food came out quickly. Service was excellent. A but pricey but overall good value.

Muro the Sushi master is one of the best I've encounter! We always sit by his side and he hooks us up!! Great food and service and the quality is always top top.

The quality of the sushi here is very good. The rolls melt in your mouth. It is pricey, at least from what I'm used to. This roll was $18.

Amazing sushi and sashimi. Excellent service. Recommend reservation but they were accommodating. Small, nothing fancy, just delicious sushi.

Wonderful sushi in the Gaslamp area. Not the least expensive in the area, but very good food and great service. The sushi chefs are very nice and make huge rolls!.

Went here early on a Saturday afternoon for dinner and it was nice and empty. We were of course able to be seated right away and we chose to sit at the bar. The service was friendly and the sushi chef was very entertaining! The food was great and we ended up going for the chef's choice (omakase) and I paired it with some of their sake which was a great decision! It was a 2 hour experience for us all of which was totally worth it!

    I would definitely come back!

Growing up on the east coast at a young age spoiled me with amazing seafood.

I knew before I walked in that seeing four busy sushi chefs and fresh looking fish lining the sushi bar that this was a great spot.

Always ask the chefs what is fresh. Ask them to make you something special from what you already like.

Great service and atmosphere. Thank you for the amazing experience to welcome me back to the West coast sushi mecca.

Came here for the all you can eat dinner sushi, first time eating here, the food was beautiful and delicious, they have smaller portions so you can actually try a lot of their menu, finally a place that wants you to try and like your food and not fill up or the same roll with different sauces!! They also had delicious dessert and Hashim selections which I hadn't seen before, the staff was super friendly the best customer service I've had in a long long time. all in all amazing food and staff, definitely eat here if your craving great quality, fair priced sushi!
