The beer was freezing cold, the food was piping hot, the service was lukewarm. This crazy lady who followed me from Saginaw told me the food was good, she just wasn't hungry. I thought to myself, "why would she even follow me there?".

They cater our Thanksgiving tailgate every year! Every year we have new people come and try the wings, ribs and sides. They all fall in love! 1 wing sauce & dry wings. Wins em all over. The ribs are fall off the bone and BBQ sauce is nice and "sweet". We're putting our order in for next year too! The bar itself is fun to go to. I've visited often and it's very consistent.

Best tasting wing I’ve ever had. The flavor was so good I now understand why the wings only come one way. Really delicious seasoned fries as well. Definitely would recommend this place!

Let me ask you have you ever been to a wing joint with just one sauce? Experience this place so you can say yes! The sauce is so good, they dictate to you, "Don't screw up our wings by putting anything other than this sauce on them." Hands down the best wings I've ever had. Someone I went with foolishly ordered something other than the wings, but that was a site to behold. He ordered the buffalo chicken strips and he recieved what looked like four (4) full, breaded chicken breasts as his "strips." Great experience; well worth the one hour wait (we got there at 530 on a Saturday). My only wish is they had a better beer selection. They've got beers that will suffice but a decent craft brew combined with those wings could make this place a national landmark.

I eat here about 3-4 times a week. The food is excellent and the service for the most part has been good. However, the consistency in restaurant policy regarding substituting and common sense flexibility leaves much to be desired. Today I ordered a cheeseburger and wanted to substitute my fries for a salad and the bartender/manager on duty refused, even though they do this for me all the time. I then get my cheeseburger medium well with no cheese when I ordered it medium rare with cheese. I send it back and tell the bartender/manager on duty to cancel the order because I don’t have any more time. She gives me the bill with 0 apologies and rudely says that she decided as the “manager on duty” that they will no longer be splitting my double rum into 2 separate drinks and if I have a problem with that to contact the owner, “because she doesn’t have time for me.” I do not plan on ever returning

Call ahead because they good a lot of business. Had the corned beef, wings, and Sweetwater burger w/ seasoned fries. They were all good. I was dissatisfied with the super watery Cole slaw I was served with the burger.

They claim to have the best wings in Detroit. They’re good wings, but if they’re the best in the city, we need some new options. It’s a convenient place with a shuttle to sports venues, but the wait staff seems overwhelmed before events. Certainly a good choice for bar food most days.

The waitress Kari was very distracted I asked for season fries with my order she gave me plain then when I reminded her she kept calling me baby took them back and dumped a bunch of seasoning on them , she forgot my friend drink twice then she kept playing with her Co workers while we were waiting for food that was up and ready to be served to us . She needs more training on how to balance. Nothing wrong with having fun at work but you need to make sure all your tables have been handled first . This coming from a former waitress. She also forgot the second drink my friend asked for never came back to bring it then when she asked if we were ready for the bill I said (she still waiting on her second drink) then Kari said oh they have to bring some up from down stairs. Well when was she going to let us know this we are cashing out now. Sad our people don't train had she been a better waitress she would hv gotten more than 7.00 tip which she only deserve 2.00 . Too much flirting with the guys and playing with Co workers.

Had lunch before a Tiger game today and the service was good, my husband came for the wings and they didn't disappoint. Here's the thing. Parking was $10 in their lot, our friends parked on the other side of the lot and were charged $20. Its downtown, I get itparking costs whatever the guy with the flag wants to charge but its still annoying as hell. We went there for their shuttle bus as well. Got there fine but no sign of the bus after the game. Waited and waited and finally took the Detroiter Bar shuttle back. The driver was great and next time we'll be going there before our event. BTW, when we finally got back to Sweetwater both shuttle buses were parked, one way back in the lot and one jacked up on the sidewalk .. No driver in sight.

I recommend the Sweet Water wings w/seasoned fries, absolutely delicious! Calling your order in and just picking it up is the best way to go. I've had pretty good luck with dinning in the years I've been going tho. Oh the Cajun steak bites are amazing too

The Windsor Detroit tunnel bus practically drops you at the door, there's a stop at St. Andrews Hall music venue, but that's a different review!
It was a very busy Mothers Day but we still had great service and overall experience. Had fish and chips and the wings - both were fantastic. Our waitress Britney was so great along with the bartender (sorry forgot her name). Amazing local beers as well. Atwater Dirty Blonde Ale was the winner. I'll be back!response / report this review -

A Detroit landmark for good reason. The food is outstanding, the staff is friendly, and the location is convenient. If you haven't been to Sweetwater yet, you haven't tasted all of the best Detroit has to offer.

Great atmosphere and we loved the Cajun wings. Neighborhood type place and everyone seems to enjoy being there. Would love to go back and try the rest of the menu.

The wings, which they're known for are not that good. Would not order them again. Seasoned fries are great. Chicken strips are good. Beef tips are good. Service okay. Dirty kitchen.
