This is obviously a renovated motel. The staff was extremely helpful. The landscaping is unbelievable. We had breakfast under the lanai. We had several feline companions. There was a view of the harbor freight. We had an evening swim in their small outdoor pool. Across the street there is a legendary Italian restaurant. We ate at the pub next-door, which is also very good I think it’s called pub 935. This motel didn’t look like much, but it turned out to be an excellent stop.
The price that we paid for the room that we got was outstanding. They had the tile wood floors which are the newer Home Depot specials. For what we paid for the room and everything that we got, was by far the best that I have seen in awhile for the money spent versus Services received. When we pulled up I was a little reluctant from the outside, but once we got into our room and everything, this was by far very impressive for what we received versus the price that we paid and would highly recommend anybody that needs a place to stay while traveling down to the Keys, this would be a great layover.
If you are struggling between Miami Beach and the Keys, choose Homestead and you'll be happy.
Super 8 is awesome, nicely clean room, comfortable, conditioned and easy to go.
Breakfast is not rich but still good to hit the road again.
Quite enough to rest
I'm writing this as I currently listen to people party outside, people who the night before were up until 2am with their music blasting. Staff doesn't seem to care about any complaints made. The rooms are alright, minus the really muggy feel to them unless the air is running on full blast. Bathroom was moldy and cramped. Barely enough room to use the toilet. Around surrounding the property isn't the best. Really shady people hanging around. Place is probably okay during race weekends, but I'd stay clear of the super 8 during the other 51 weeks a year. On a side note the cleaning staff are the real highlight of the stay. They were all friendly and always wiling to go the extra mile to make sure our stay was just a little better.
I stayed it at the Super 8 for several days and it has been by far the best hotel I have stayed at in my whole trip. The front desk staff is wonderful and so helpful especially Rosa. She made sure we had a great day and helped us map out some fun things to do. The breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage and so much more was great. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and the next time I'm in the area I will stay there.
I just needed a room to rest before going to Key West. The front desk was very professional and helpful. The maid service was wonderful. Clean rooms with a great price.
Great prices, in a prime location. We ran into a few issues with our room but Rosa was very quick to ensure that we were taken care of. Her assistance was very much appreciated.
Updated rooms and very spacious. Room was clean and loved that they don't have carpet. Quiet and safe location, there was a security guy at night. Guest service was very good. They have breakfast with eggs, sausages, bread, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice, waffles. Many restaurants close by the hotel as well. I enjoyed my stay.
Rooms were clean, and very nice given the price point. Even though the surrounding area looks a little rough, there were no disturbances in the night. The hotel has night time security and is well lit at night, if I were to stay near Florida City or the everglades again, I'd stay here.
I came here to spend the night before going to a concert and the price was very good. The place itself is actually very cute. I didn't get to go to the pool but I really wanted to. Clean place, friendly staff. I would have given 5 stars but the breakfast there wasn't very impressive, I mean, I know it's free but I've had better. Still overall the hotel was pretty good. If I ever have an event in the area I wouldn't mind coming back.
Nice place to stay. Clean, quiet, accesible. I would stay here again if I had to come back to this town.
This a great place. Was pleasantly surprised. The room was just like the picture. It was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was good and hot. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.
This room was a great bargain. Very inexpensive for the quality. The bathrooms were dated but still functional. The room was clean and comfortable. This was the second time we have stayed here and we have been satisfied both times.
We had a renovated room and it was very clean. Breakfast was great as well. If you like fancy this not not for you, it's simple look at the price and expect that.
I debated for a lot of time between giving 3 stars and 4 stars. I ended up with 3 stars because I felt the cleanliness could be improved. The carpet was full of stains. There were stains in the wall and the chair/furniture also had stains. The room is big and had both a little fridge and microwave. The sink area was separate from the bathroom which helps when 2 people are trying to get ready. The complementary breakfast was adequate; sausage and scrambled eggs were available among other things. They also seem to have overnight security with a security guard doing rounds. I happened to notice a lot of "weird" people around the place. An amazing number of people are Jay walking and others are intoxicated in the city. A security guard is a good idea since the complex is quite large due to the fact that all the rooms are at ground level. The hotel is very near the Everglades National Park and I understand tourists coming from the park making the room dirty and are probably the cause for the stains. Overall, this place is a cost effective option near the Everglades. The staff are very cordial and helpful. The office has a computer and printer.
