This is a great zoo to take the kids for a quick trip. It's small and really nice to walk through. They have a nice variety of animals to keep the kids curious, interested and entertained. When I visit I usually pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it on the picnic tables.

I was told that with the zoo pass that was purchased at the Bronx zoo would cover this zoo but it doesnt.little disappointed in that and that late in the year and some animals and the fish section were closed or not available. Other than that it was pretty awesome and for 2 adults and 2 kids $32 wasn't that bad. Got here before they opened had parking right by the door and was in and out in about 2 hours.

Last there 40+ years ago, much improved. Small animals nicely displayed. Good variety. Adults maybe 3hrs longer with kids. Find a discount.

One of the VERY few reasons to actually be on Staten Island. Great little city zoo complete with kids zoo and carousel. They have remodeling the aquarium area for the last 3 or 4 years which is the only minus, otherwise 5 stars.

There are a lot of animals here. And it was only $10 per adult. My wife and I spent the afternoon there, definitely worth the small admission fee. Cool leopards!

Small zoo which is very quaint and family oriented. Entry fee is reasonable, $10 for adults, $6 for children 3+ (free under 3). They have a $2 carousel, price covers one child and one adult. They have a restaurant that serves hot dogs, burgers etc. And a nice up close section with ponies, sheep and llamas.

This zoo is amazing my children ages 11 and 9 really enjoyed themselves. We had a family fun day at the zoo. I'm so excited that at their ages they still enjoyed an outing like this. Best zoo in NY

This is probably the best of all NYC zoos.
Very nice grounds well kept place, very friendly staff lots of animals mostly snacks,
Also don't miss the white tent animal exhibits and the "Africa" an attraction that alone is worth the visit.
The kids "love" the petting zoo.

I had a great time at the SI zoo. And ate at the cafeteria..the food was fresh, hot and high quality😎 also priced Right! 4 kids and two adults ate for 32$.
I will remember to bring my zoo membership card from CT next time since the ticket agent said I had to pay because I forgot the pass home!!response / report this review -

Fun sized easy to visit zoo. Animals are well cared for. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Kids love the carousel.

Cute little zoo. Wish most of the animals were not hiding or not in their enclosures. Peacocks walking in the lunch area were priceless!!

This place is all the way out in Sylmar, and is pretty small, but cool at the same time. You can easily see the entire grounds in 30 minutes, but the staff is very helpful and informative in making the experience more immersive. We had a close experience with the sloth, which I am happy we did. We were able to pet them, not hold them, but feed them and get up close. This is a great place to bring the kids if you are against, or don't want to go all the way to the zoo.

I had such a great time at the SI Zoo! I haven't gone in about 5 years and since they've gotten a lot of new animals, and they seem to have a lot more staff on hand. Excellent staff, and an excellent zoo experience!
