Definitely look elsewhere for your transmission needs. You'll end up spending twice the money at this shop. I took my car in and it was driveable. I had to pay $550 in labor to get my car back (basically in pieces). It was not driveable and had to be towed.
    Definitely STAY AWAY!

This is the BEST transmission shop in the western half of the United States!!!

This shop, has a great friendly team of experienced trained professionals that will get you back on the road and save you money in the long run with a 5 year 50k warranty.

In my personal experience, other transmission shops are out for peoples money and "Jerry rigged" my transmission so it would break and i would have to come back to them over and over.
Thats when i came to State transmission.

State transmission showed me, with my own eyes, what Action transmission did and fixed it to factory specifications. (Action Transmission put a bolt and spring in my transmission that didn't belong in a transmission!!!)
My vehicle now runs and shifts gears like NEW and better than i have ever experienced considering i bought it used.
Other transmission shops in my opinion do not have the integrity, honesty, expertise and knowledge this shop has.
Keep in mind transmission rebuilds are not cheap and not a lot of people know how to do it correctly.
I hope you take my advice when i tell you, "you get what you pay for with transmission work." That's why i will pay for their honesty and hard professional work and always will take my vehicles here. Because they are very knowledgeable mechanics that work hard and fast to make people happy.

Thank you Brice and Brandon for my transmission rebuild. I am very satisfied.

A week after one transmission repair, our transmission had more issues. Then a week after that was fixed the transmission fluid line burst. When I had it towed to them I left a voicemail explaining symptoms as much as possible, not knowing yet what was wrong, and said at the end that maybe this time they could fix it. The owner took offense from my voicemail, called me on my cell, and started verbally abusing me. His attack left me in tears and shaken, unable to mentally function the rest of the day at work.

I tried to explain what I meant, and that what I said was not meant maliciously, but he did not listen to me. He just continued his verbal attack and told me he would not warranty or work on my vehicle any more and to get it off his lot. When my wife called him later on to notify him of arrangements to have it towed to another place, he laid into my wife with another verbal attack.

A business should never verbally abuse a customer. This is a great way to lose business and get bad reviews. I will NEVER go back to this place again, and I will do everything in my power to prevent others from having to experience this kind of abuse from a business.

I've heard some less then desirable reviews from mechanics. But I've had really good luck with one of their associates (forgot his name) he always helps me out and has hooked me up with good deals (never had a serious problem though)

So if you're determined to get your tranny fixed at all costs, I'm sure State provides great service. If, however, you just want a checkup, you may end up feeling a bit hoodwinked.

In my case, car was shifting hard into first. I'd read that it could just be low fluid, so I took it in. Turns out there was no fluid, but they said they'd need 300 bucks to do a full inspection and see if anything else was wrong. Did the inspection, estimate for full repair ended up being 3K--not really worth it for a 2K car. I told them I couldn't afford it and I'd come grab the car and pay them the 300. That's when I was told it would be another 500 bucks to put things back (he actually said 800-900, but on second conversation I was told that I'd heard wrong.) $800+ for what amounts to a transmission flush. Two spitting matches later (one with an employee, then the owner called me back so he could have a turn screaming at me) I got the car towed to my normal mechanic. Estimate from my normal mechanic is significantly cheaper.

Just to be clear, it was reiterated to me many times (at maximum volume) that I could have just "asked" if there was going to be a separate charge to re-install the transmission. Call me naive, but any other mechanic I've ever dealt with would've been insulted if I'd asked them if they were planning on doubling (or tripling) my bill without telling me.

customer service needs improvement I don't feel very good when somebody calls me to yell at me because of me calling them . I called yesterday morning and of course they did not explain everything to me the way I could understand as so I called back a little later and that's when they explained to me that they had to wait for the shipment to come in to know what was going on. I called the morning at the next day to get an ETA at that time they didn't have one so I called in the afternoon about 2 o'clock this see how things were going that's when they told me about between 4:30 and 5 it would be done later they called my house talk to my daughter in law and she told me I better call back I did and that's when I was chewed out for calling too many times and that they couldn't get the job done if I kept calling but I only called in the morning and then in the afternoon at 2 for a ETAin the afternoon is when they could give me an ETA on the work and I thought everything was okay.

I took my truck into "state transmission specialists" for a "free diagnostics" and when they called me they told me that they would look at it, and when i came to pick up my truck they had the whole transmission apart and on the table. they told me the only way they could do a diagnostic is to open it. they never told me that they were going to open. i only went in for a free inspection and so when i confronted them about tearing it apart he got mad and told me to go into the office and that he was going to call the police. when i found out it was going to cost $2700.00 to fix it or i could take it in a box for $300.00. i explained to him i dont have this money right now he told me to go to my bishop and ask him for money. frankly this is not right!! i will never recommend this company to anyone. this is not the place to take your car. the money is never the point but the honestly goes far.

I just downgraded this to a one star because the transmission pan started leaking!

I took the initiative and talked with Bryce today am changing my review from a 1 star to a 2 star. I still paid for repairing the wrong problem. Bryce admits that they did not rescan the car prior to working on it. Measure twice / repair once. This whole situation could have been avoided if they would have scanned the car prior to working on it. But as it is I paid $776 and the car has EXACTLY the same problem it had when I dropped it off. Had it been scanned prior to working on it, and had they found an extra error code sure it may have cost a bit more for the repair but defiantly not as much as it is going to cost to do it all over again. Bottom I can't know everything their is to know about the computer operations of a transmission. All I do know for sure is the car is still doing exactly what it was doing before I took it to them. Normally this would be a one star rating but since Bryce was able to have a conversation about this without using profanity he gets two.
