Don't waste your money going snow tubing here. The "magic carpet" is dangerous and slow. It's a rickety conveyor belt that they put together themselves and there is still a lot of difficult treading up icy snow hills. There is no direction on what to do when you get there. The employees were all rude teenagers. We ended up having to wait in line a second time because they didn't say our toddlers needed their own tubes until it was our turn. We only went down the hill once. The slope is solid ice and covered in chunks of ice that you get beaten against all the way down. We overheard a couple of the employees talking about how so many people were complaining about the painful ride that they were considering shutting down a couple of the tubing runs because they were so bad but they said they couldn't or they would have to give refunds and they are 100% against refunds.
My whole family goes here every Christmas for a tradition of snow tubing! The lodge gets a bit packed because usually everyone makes it a family thing, which also means a crowded small parking lot, but other than that, it’s a great time every year
Great forgiving golf experience with price to allow an amateur with a budget play (me). Silver course is most friendly for amateurs and people with kids learning.
Great experience with sleepy hollow. I would recommend it to everyone!
Fun to get out and run in the mud. Lots of people and great time to have fun with friends and meet new people.
I went to this venue for a sheepdog competition. The rolling fields were so beautiful, the mountains were majestic in the background. The event was interesting.
I have been here mostly in the winter. I have gone tubing at least twice and both times were lots of fun. It was nice because we got a lift tag for a certain time frame. We could ride a tube up the lift during that time frame and ride down as many times as we could fit in that time frame. The slopes were fun and well maintained. I don't remember any problems with the staff but they helped keep it safe so people weren't bumping into each other. The central building was also nice and warm and had plenty of room to be with a group.
If you're into recreating famous sculptures in the snow this isnt the place to hone your craft. Kids with sleds and snowballs kept thinking my recreation of Laocoon and His Sons was just a fort, and kept attacking me and toying with my tools. Great if you're into sabotaging inventive art thought.
This was our first time we had been to Solider Hollow and I would definitely recommend it. It was a fun experience and the kids loved it! Buy your tickets ahead of time though as it can be busy at times. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't bad at all. We probably got 8-9 runs it and that was perfect for the two hour time frame. Also, my daughter had left her jacket in a tube so I called once we got home and they mailed it to us for free. That is great customer service!
Really good place to learn skiing even during low season. The instructors are very patient and lovely and THEY MAKE THEIR OWN SNOW!! We also enjoyed tubbing but call ahead so you can book what you want.
I've seen the hill lit up from the highway several times over the years, but this was the first time I went tubing at Soldier Hollow!! It was a ton of fun and the kids loved it! Even our 3 year old niece wasn't afraid! Definitely recommended.
