This is a nice place to stop right off the main road. The bathrooms were clean and any information you need is located in tge same building as well. There is plenty of parking and doesn't detour you out of ypur way costing valuable time on a road trip. The area is big enough to stretch your legs if you have pets or children as well.

Great information, lots of free brochures and local items. The people working are knowledgeable about the area and were able to answer our questions about current festivals and activities. A perfect stop!

One of my favorite places. A herd of Elk was in the field and two males we're fighting. There's a replica of a homestead. Absolutely gorgeous.

We were late-comers to see the eclipse August 21, arriving from Tampa in the Dillard, Ga-Franklin, NC area Monday morning. We, so fortunately ran across the hidden jewel! Our concern about nearby restrooms, snacks, etc., were big maybes that were more than fulfilled! Appearing new, the small gift shop lacked books (but I'd brought my own), but was well stocked (including viewing glasses). The bathrooms were immaculate. The smallish parking lot filled shortly after our arrival, so we were extremely fortunate! Great view of the eclipse, plenty of park-like shade for the pre-eclipse wait, and 2 nice sized doggie areas (one by our car). We will hold a special place in our minds and hearts for this surprising, unanticipated and hidden jewel (however, good signage on hwy 23 if you are paying attention).

rest area, spent the night in semi. not one car in lot all night. beautiful, quiet, top notch facilities. hidden gem, wish could stay here every night!

Has nice picnic tables and a small area to walk your dog. It even has a Poop Bag stand. The bathrooms are good, basically a nice place to stop and rest before continuing on your journey.

One of the best visitor centers I've ever been. Bathrooms were very clean and there was someone on duty to clean if something was wrong. Very amazing views. Well I really should say all the visitors centers we stopped at in NC were awesome. Thanks for caring

Such a neat place! Incredibly clean bathrooms and a really neat little store with lots of informative and friendly people. You can buy anything from clothes to candy or stuffed animals! Also great place for photos!
