Cute spot. Laid back. Had the soup, it was good but looked like it was served in a dog bowl. Sabrina the bartender was awesome. Very friendly and fast.

The remodel is nice, but I miss the taps! There's a reason why they're known for their Cubans! The burgers are awesome too. Nice atmosphere n good place to watch sports.

Went in to watch a UFC PPV.

Pros:
*Cuban sliders were DELICIOUS
*Decent beers on tap, which they rotate
*Food comes out quickly after you place your order
*Plenty of TVs to watch from, including a few projectors at different parts of the bar
*They played the audio from the UFC instead of music

Cons:
*Parking in the area is scarce, I had to pay to park in a garage
*Significant portion of the crowd was in or just out of college, and was extremely obnoxious, screaming for every minor punch or kick landed during the fights
*By 9 pm (4 hours of fights left), they had run out of half the beers on tap
*Had to ask for a glass, they served me beer in a plastic cup
*The bartender didn't even consider putting the free boxing match playing on CBS on one of the screens, saying "we don't show boxing"
*One of the two men's bathrooms was out of order
*The other men's bathroom had run out of paper towel by 11

Neither:
*A "fight" broke out (pushing only, no punches thrown), but it was dealt with quickly and reasonably
*The air conditioning was on high (I was sitting next to the vent, it probably wouldn't have been bad if I had another seat)

Typical hole-in-the-wall bar. Lots of space downstairs for groups, with shuffleboard, skee-ball, TVs, beer pong, etc. Popular among the work crowd after 5, and there's a fair crowd around lunch. Service can be kinda slow depending on the time of day, but they're always friendly.

I go to Sidebar quite a bit. It truly is "Downtown's Neighborhood Bar". Is the food great? No, but the atmosphere and people more than make up for it.
