Nice and quiet place! Lunch service is a little slow. Food was really good. Nice portion sizes. Well decorated for the holiday season ;)
We are vibe people. And we are food people. We used to live in Hillcrest and frequent their sister restaurant for dates nights and after being in Mira Mesa for nearly a decade, JUST rediscovered this place in a new setting. We have had great dine in and take out experiences. Our Uber Eats order just came without the Thai Wraps and the manager ran them right over after a phone call. That kind of service is rare - and appreciated. We were in the Bay Area for a family trip not long ago and popped into a Thai spot on a whim and were really disappointed in their Pad Thai and standards we're used to at Siam Nara. We get the typical middle of the road items and they always knock them out - curries, noodles, rice, rolls, wraps - we love them all. I ventured out for Larb last time and had a hard time with it but I thought I was ordering Papaya salad so that was my bad. And we just ordered the curry bun which seemed to me a lot like the samosas we enjoy when we get Indian take out but even more savory. Overall this place is staffed by what we have always experienced as warm folks that make great food and we highly recommend checking them out.
Siam Nara is located in Mira Mesa. The portion sizes are very large when compared to other Thai restaurants. The food is tasty. Lunch service was slow, we kept having to get the staff’s attention for various requests. The dining area is large in size and can accommodate multiple large parties. The decor is very cute and executes the Thailand theme very well. They have a Christmas tree and other Christmas related decor during the holiday season.
Literally my favorite Thai food I've had in San Diego. Absolutely LOVE the Yellow Curry with chicken and the crab fried rice. Friends who try other curries or dishes always enjoy whatever they get. The service is pretty solid and the restaurant decor is endearing.
For anyone gluten free, the menu has what is gluten free listed for easy browsing.
Waiters are very nice but the food is totally off. I mean it’s meant for the American tongue any one who has had real authentic Thai food should look for some place else unless sugary chillie is on the palate! Rice is soggy and the chicken under cooked!
Great place for good thai food - better interior and servers with traditional costume than usual thai food restaurant.
Good service and food. Very good mijito and Thai iced coffee. Service did a very good job. Disclaimer: if you say "hot " it means very hot.
Good for sharing, everything's flavorful(especially the E-san submenu). Has both authentic dishes and Americanized dishes.
Food was good but what put me off was that they are in a hurry to clear your table. It happened to two of us that our plates got cleared without being asked whether we were still working on it or wanted it to go. Frustrating.
Review taken from my Yelp on 6/14/2017.
Came in to eat at around 19:30 (7:30pm) on June 13, 2017. I was asked to sign the waitlist for a party of five people. Got seated about 5 minutes later. They provided us 2 jars of water with 5 nice cup (which most people use it for wine). The service was a little longer than usual since it was busy. One of my friends got very cranky, but it went away after 5 minutes when the server placed our order. One interesting thing about this restaurant is that they used a tablet instead of writing it down. After 10-15 minutes, we got our orders. I ordered the Pad Thai with beef.
The food was great. I liked the noodles. I have not eaten this dish in a long while, but the portions seemed a little smaller than in the past. My friends did not complain about their food either except for the portion and service, which was a bit slow. Therefore I give 4 stars.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. What more can you ask for!
Used to be much better but it's still one of the better Thai places around
This place is nice inside. I wanted to like this place but I was spoiled by the other thai places close by. The food is decent but not great. They shared the same menu with another small thai place and I liked the other one better. 3.5 stars.
I had pad khing [or khip, can't exactly remember] which was a ginger dish with vegetables and meat of choice. I've been looking for a good ginger pork dish, and this was exactly what I was imagining.
The Green Curry, Pad Thai and Vegetable Curry Puffs are excellent. A very authentic Thai food.
