The place is alright, I guess. The Strawberry Bingsoo was Subpar with a moth of plain shaved ice, the Madelines tasted like week old cake batter shaped into Madelines. The quality can use a lot of work and the cashier seems to rush customers.
This was actually the first Shilla Bakery location we visited many years ago and we've been fans ever since. A couple of our favorite baked goods are the melon bread and the egg tarts. They also have a selection of savory breads that are great as well. They offer a huge selection of specialties such as cakes and macarons that would be perfect for gifts and parties. They have an amazing dessert menu with several varieties of bingsoo, which is shaved ice served with a combination of different flavored ice cream, fruits, syrups, mochi, and other treats. They also have bubble tea and coffee selections. If we were to be nitpicky, they are not consistent with having samples available, and the overall cleanliness could be improved a touch.
Customer Service is pretty bad. I was there last Wednesday night and asked the Cashier Sol the differences between two bingsoos, she looked at me like dah? Ingredients. Mind you this is the first question i asked. We then asked what Ingredients. She said i don't know in the same manner. I totally understand if you don't know cause sometimes you might be just working part time here. But at least say it nicely.
I like to get coffee and vanilla ice cream and then put my icecream into the coffee. They have tons of pastries and breads. They seem friendly enough. Good crowd on Sat Sun
Great food and the wait usually isn't too long. Service could be a little more friendly. Food is somewhat pricey compared to other korean bbqs in the area.
Great place for bakery. A little pricy but worth it. The cake is not as sweet as the usual American or Mexican bakery.

This place is amazing! The variety of breads and cakes is awesome, and you don't feel overcharged. I didn't realize there would be actual food though, like paninis and salads. So glad I came!
Oh my God this place has some of the most amazing flavor combinations. Cakes, boba teas, flat bread pizza and breakfast pastries. Hands down this place has delicious bread and pastries.
Food coma And i only had the samples So many things here to eat and try! It smells heavenly in here. Everything tastse so rich and melts in your mouth. Very few white people in here. My sister has the sweet tooth, she would love this place!
Have been coming here for many years now, and always leave with several baked goods and a smile. A personal tip though, timing is EVERYTHING here!! This is a very popular cafe, for good reason, so it can be very crowded and they can sell out of items but they do restock them though out the day. Try going at different times of day to see what works best for your schudele, while minimizing the crowd :)
Their baked goods are good. Always crowded and the service isn't there. The staff always seem to treat people as if they own them, which is unpleasant. The bakery isles are way too narrow and hard to walk through. Despite their good pastry items I've been sort of avoiding going there due to the crowd and the poor service.
I ordered a birthday cake so that I can get fresh one. They just gave me the cake which they made a long time ago. I took a picture in case they gave the one used to shown. Unfortunately, I forget to check it when I pick it up. IT IS THE OLD ONE!!!
I come here several times a month for their red bean buns, especially the ones with buttercream. :) If I manage to get there in the early afternoon, they often have fresh curry chicken croquettes, and the supple, warm crunch is AMAZING.
There are other locations, but the wider variety of goodies and the damn near perfection of everything on offer makes this one the clear winner; all the buns were burnt in Rockville and Tyson's had pretty much nothing (maybe I went on bad days?).
Do yourself a favor and try a red bean bun! :)
This place had been here forever! Been coming here since child hood and it is busier now than ever. Used to be a student hang out but now it's an older crowd, almost touristy. Pastries usually are always fresh but it is definitely pricey compare to other just as great Korean bakeries. They used to have samples of almost everything but today, absolutely no samples. I think they are raising the prices and trying to save cost. There is wifi but they covered all their outlets so you can't charge anything here. Just too bad, almost perfect!
