Staff very friendly. Easy to make an appointment. My stylist (Amanda) did a great cut and highlights - it was a few weeks ago and my hair is growing out really well. She recommended a style which I hadn’t thought of, and it definitely worked. The salon is nice and airy. Good products too. Would recommend!

I had a great experience with Shampoo Ave B! They had an appointment at 9pm for me, which most places don't. I only got a cut and was in and out within an hour, while still having a great hair cut! The salon is also very cool. I would recommend this place to any of my friends!

Hands down the best salon experience I've had since moving to NYC over two years ago. I'm so happy to have finally found my go-to!

Jennifer was AMAZING and was able to execute exactly what I was looking for and answer all questions. I was immediately greeted with smiles, magazines, and wine (!) and could not have been treated better by any of the staff I interacted with throughout my appointment.

I got a full balayage and haircut, which took the usual 2-3 hours BUT that time flew by because I was so comfortable and well taken care of. I can't praise this salon enough! Thank you!!

my stylist (lily) did a good job with the cut but didn't style my hair the way we agreed. I brought in a couple of photos of what I wanted --i have wavy to curly hair and chose photos of styles for wavy to curly hair. I didn't want my hair straightened--she dried my hair straight because she said she needed to make sure everything was lined up correctly etc. when I mentioned that I wanted her to style my hair so that it retains my natural waves/curls, she told me she doesn't have time and that I would be charged extra. very confusing. but after a wash at home, my hair is wavy and bouncy again and the cut looks good with it. It would be nice if my hair stylist styled my hair the way we agreed as I wanted to go out that evening with that stylealso wish she understood that everyone doesn't have to walk out of there with straight hair and I shouldn't be dismissed altogether that wayall because I just wanted my natural waves showing. anyway, not a huge deal overall good experience with the salon but I'll choose a different stylist next time.

I moved to the area and recently and found Shampoo Avenue B online. It was very easy to make an appointment and easy to change the appointment when my schedule changed. My stylist was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. She helped me recolor my hair after a scary visit to another salon. It looked amazing!! We also had great conversation, which is a plus during such a long process. All of the staff was amazing and so professional. The salon also sell oribe products, which is one of my favorite brands. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone.

I love this salon, it’s right by my apartment and they have availability late at night which is great so I can get my hair done after work which has never been an option for me before. love the stylists there and the ambiance, they offer you tea, water or wine. They also have an awesome reward points system which I’ve never seen at another salon.

Shampoo Avenue B was one of my better haircut experiences I've hadperhaps ever. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly, it's easy to make an appointment online, and has a great ambiance. Just an all around easy experience. Can't recommend more highly!

This is a great place! I was referred by a friend. I had my haircut with Ash and he was very friendly and he helped me decide what style suited me best! The place is clean, they give you wine and many positive vibes! I am definitely going back again.

I was recommended to Shampoo Ave B by a friend. I had a wonderful experience. Very clean and stylish salon with upbeat vibes. Staff is attentive and makes customers very comfortable, offering complimentary water and wine. Joey did a great job on my cut and half head highlights. I had gone in with only a general idea of what I wanted but Joey was able to use his skills and expertise to give me a cut/color I loved. He asked questions to get a feel for what I might like and took his time to explain and show me exactly what he was going to do. I will definitely be returning for my next hair appointment!

I had a fantastic experience at Shampoo Ave B. I have a little over shoulder-length hair and just needed a trim. The stylist did a great job of cutting to my hair type--my hair air dries so much better now! She explained what she wanted to do and combined my input with her recommendations to give me a great look. The appointment was quick, and VERY affordable for the city with the weekday discount. Will definitely be returning!

I read about this place and I knew this is where I want to go. I booked an appointment with Joey who was amazing. I was looking for a good and affordable salon so the happy hour deal/student discount they offer made me want to give it try it. I had a haircut with Brianne and was super happy with the end result. I will definitely be coming back! I have a lot of hair so it took rather long to cut and style but it never felt like Brianne was rushing to get done. She took her time and was extremely attentive and sweet. Highly recommended!

I visited Shampoo Avenue B as my first trip to a salon since moving to NYC after reading great reviews on numerous sites. I had a haircut with Catherine, and she was great! For younger clients, she's also young and easy to chat with and gave me a cut that is exactly what I asked for along with a good blowout. Additionally, the salon itself is great and has a very relaxed atmosphere, complete with a complementary glass of wine. I've already recommended Shampoo Ave B and Catherine to a friend and will continue to do so!

Found Shampoo Avenue B through Yelp. I have a place in Long Island I normally go to but i wanted/needed my haircut that day and I was in Manhattan. The salon is clean and everyone is so pleasant. Simone gave me a great cut. Exactly what I was looking for, as it has only gotten nicer as it has continued to grow out. Was shocked how reasonable the prices were considering I was in Manhattan. Have already recommended this salon to several of my friends. I will be back very soon.

Had a women's cut with Taryn. Taryn was very friendly and attentive throughout the appointment. The experience was great; wine, water. She made an effort to understand how I wanted my hair done. Her blowout was really excellent, looked great. However, the sides of my hair in the front were slightly uneven after the cut, although it was minimal enough that no one else probably noticed. Planning to go back for another cut, but may try another stylist.
