Great bar. Amazing breakfast burrito. Gus the bartender was super friendly and I loved the beer selection, especially wolf pup.
My sorority had a gathering at the lounge, and it was a blast! The environment was a bit too quiet until the DJ arrived, but lovely nonetheless. The food is great, as are the drinks.
We held a rooftop event in the evening. The venue was special. The food amazing s and the staff were excellent.
Clean, sleek, stylish and celebrity ridden, shade is modern luxury at its finest. The complimentary breakfast is great and the room design is truly nice. Expensive at over 300 a night but for work events it is great
Tried the VIP to go family dinner. Hesitant on paying 60 dollars for food that you pick up through valet. However, I ended up being pleasantly surprised. It was enough food for 4 with some leftovers. Very well cooked, seasoned, and packaged. I'm looking forward to trying it again.
Absolutely loved Shade, attended a work training event in their upstairs conference room. A.C. was roaring, coffee, pastries, and lunch we're all fantastic. Great space.
The customer service was very very good, they answered every single question we had, said if we had more questions to call and ask for them and gave us their names, allowed my grandmother to use the service elevator in order to reach the rooftop like she wanted as the stairs were too much for her, even helped her up one of the steps on the rooftop so she could get a better view. The hotel rooms were fantastic with built in natural shampoo and conditioners that don't test on animals (and not the small itty bitty bottles, either, so we could use as much as we needed). They had a clearly labeled control panel for all of the lights in the room, there was a very large bath, enough closet room to fit all of our clothes, a small daybed about the size of a twin bed which allowed us to sleep in separate beds (they also offered to bring in a bed, which we declined- but the offer was nice!) There was a small restaurant downstairs that you could use if you were hungry, and since we came during a big holiday, they even offered mothers someone to babysit their children for the day.
Went for Shade's Derby day party. Honestly the people made it festive more than the venue itself. Everyone decked themselves out with their finest "Derby attire" i.e. bowties and big hats, which really made it a fun time. Never got overly crowded either. Drinks were appropriately themed but executed less than perfectly. Staff was excellent.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The deluxe room I got was very clean and the bed was very firm, but not stiff. It was very relaxing to sleep on after a very long day at work. The place has basically a switch for every light and the bathtub was spectacular with this lighting which you can configure yourself. I'm planning on going back.
Superbly located boutique hotel in the heart of Manhattan Beach. Shade was an excellent spot to stay at, the staff was helpful and attentive. The bar downstairs is nice and open and had live entertainment both nights we stayed. The best thing about Shade is its location, it is a stone's throw from many excellent shops and restaurants in Manhattan Beach as well as the beach itself. Centrally located, it is a short drive from LAX and anywhere else you would need to go.
Stayed at the Shade Hotel for two days over Labor Day weekend. Extremely nice staff, really nice location, and great Valet service.Only draw back was that the walls are VERY thin and you can hear everything in the rooms next to you. They have Champagne for everyone between 5-6pm..nice. They have a restaurant on sitebut$$$$..The room was very clean, and their service is very prompt. I probably wont stay there again; it was a bit stuffy.
