Great for a fun family outing!! 👍
It can get pretty crowded when school is out, and the weather is nice so come early. Also the chances of seeing the animals being active is better when the weather is cooler.
If you like going to zoos then I recommend getting a annual pass seeing as it pays for itself after only a couple of visits.

Always a fun time with the kids! My family loves going to the Sedgwick County Zoo, especially the petting zoo where my daughter LOVES feeding the sheep. The Tiger Trek and elephant exhibits are amazing! The attention to detail makes the entire walk-through feel like you've been transported to another country! There's nothing better than seeing my daughter's face light up because she's standing inches away from a full grown lion!

What a great zoo!!! This Zoo showcases animals from various parts of the world, and orients their habitats to mimic those regions. For example, they have sections featuring animals of South America, animals of Australia, farm animals of America, farm animals of Asia, Etc. Their bird exhibits were fantastic, as were their reptile exhibits. The habitats seemed roomy, and the animals were very well cared for. We very much enjoyed our day. I highly recommend a visit to this lovely Zoo.

It was our first visit to the zoo. We are in town visiting family. The day was gorgeous and we loved the zoo. The habitats were very nice. There was an employee in the American Farm that shared a lot of information with us regarding the goats unsolicited. It's rare for a zoo employee to display so much enthusiasm toward guess in my opinion. I would definitely recommend visiting this zoo.

My children and I love this zoo! My two and a half year old daughter knows almost all of the animals and the sounds they make because we go here about once a week. It's usually not too crowded either. I LOVE the taco events! Since we're members we get into these events free :-D :-D :-D I wish the zoo employees wouldn't drive their carts so fast. I like to let my kids lead the way with excitement but I'm scared they're going to get hit (I almost gave four instead of five stars because of this)! Also, I wish they had carts selling tamales, corn, tacos, popcorn, cotton candy, etc, walking through the park. They have food stands but most of them are closed most of the year and I think it would be more fun and tempting to have carts with different things. I should add, my husband and I even thought of having our wedding here! Unfortunately, I asked more than once but no one could even show me the banquet room Pretty disappointing. Overall though, this membership is one of the best yearly investments we make :-)

There are many lovely exhibits, including the relatively new Safari theme housing tigers, gorillas, and the beautiful elephant exhibit! The zoo is laid out well and staff are helpful. My family really enjoys the experience.

This is one of the best zoo's I have been to in the U.S and its tucked away in Wichita, I know plenty of people that have worked for the zoo and they say the animals always come first. They have a great enclosure for the animals and they are well treated. The zoo has a great atmosphere for the guest, and children have lots of opportunities to learn/interact with the animals. The food is ok in my eyes, kind of pricey for what you are getting but the great thing is you can bring your own food and drinks inside! If you are debating on bring your family don't wait another minute this place is worth the money and its constantly changing so a session pass is not that bad of an idea!

The zoo is full of friendly workers who bend over backwards to make your stay pleasurable. They are open 365 days a year. The one day closed is to get ready for Zoobilee. It is a annual fundraiser. 50 various local food & beverage establishments to provide food fare. Lots of different bands in different areas of the zoo & of course the main event, the silent auction. They have many different zoo events throughout the year for all ages. Learning experiences during the summer for kids of all ages (not free nor is it included in membership cost). Zoo recently has had a boom in babies, the newest being Gorilla's. Our zoo was asked to be a breeder location for the Lowland Gorilla which is critically endangered due to habitat destruction, big game hunting, & poaching.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Couldn't resist. This zoo is honestly one of my favorites!! It has a variety of animals which all have a good amount of space to live in. Seeing them in a more natural way due to the space offered is always amazing to me!
They have a boat tour and a train tour, as well as zoo keys that let kids listen to facts about certain animals. There's also talks and some public feedings that let the keepers and the positions interact. The food at the court is decent but a lot of fried things.
The entrance fee, food court, and gift shop are all a bit pricey but if you like to go a lot then their family passes and things like that are cheaper and worth it. Also they do have strollers and wheelchairs you can rent there through the gift shop! Great for a day of fun!!

This zoo is a really nice place to go with my daughter. I love animals so the trips to the zoo are as much for me, if not more, than for my daughter. My favorite part it to take my daughter to the petting zoo area so she can get close to the sheep and goats. She love animals like me, and this gives her an opportunity to get more comfortable around them. I also love the gorilla exhibit (I just wish that was closer to the entrance). They have a cool playground over there that is a good place to kids to get their wiggles out.

I just love taking my kids buying a membership is not very much and it insures that me and my kids have something to do when it's nice outside. Even a little chilly there's indoor stuff to do. I've loved going since I was a kid and it will never get old every day there doing different stuff

With how much admission is each time per person, having a membership definitely pays for itself; then you get to walk around as much as you seeing all the animals. Only downside is if you have to stop for food, but you can always bring your own coolers and food. Kids always have fun even more now that they can all run around instead of being strapped in strollers.

This is a world class zoo in the middle of America. I grew up going to this zoo as a child, and not I take my children. Due to generous local donations, this zoo continues to grow and improve with each passing year. It has many animals on exhibit from all over the world, as well as plenty of information about each animal. Exhibits are spaced close to each other, so you don't have to walk a lot just to get to a certain exhibit (unlike other zoos in the country). Though Wichita isn't known for its tourism, this is a great place to visit if you're in town for a day.

I am so lucky to live in Wichita because I can go to Sedgwick county zoo with my kids. We are season members and love it. The new elephant exhibit is amazing. There are not many places you can go to see 7 elephants at one in a beautiful environment. There is a petting zoo and fun activities for young and old kids. Their lunch prices are really decent in the cafe, we usually stay around 3 hours and stop midway for lunch. There are a few smaller cafes and drink machines along the way during the summer. I recommend getting the "Catch a Keeper" badge. Kids can swipe it at each exhibit to learn more about the animals. It keeps my child entertained!

The zoo keepers and staff are always so friendly and helpful. Who knew we were allowed to feed the goat in the pin next to the pig was allowed to be feed like the sheep are? Not this guy until today. Sad to hear the last bee colony swarmed last fall and currently the bee hive setup has no residents.
