We dined in the tavern. Our server was wonderful! The food was mediocre. I ordered the French dip and my partner ordered fish. His fish was heavily battered. My sandwich was extremely heavy on the bread and very light on the meat and onion. Very light. As in it was honestly mostly bread. Disappointing for the price. I've been visiting off and on for many years but am now getting the feeling that this is a place well past its prime. If you appreciate nostalgia and are comfortable with paying for it, then check this out. If your more concerned with truly wonderful food, continue down the road in your quest.

Thanksgiving dinner was phenomenal! Service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance was warm and classy. Homemade crackers and cheese were complimentary. Turkey was moist and flavorful and tender. EVERYTHING was delicious! It was the perfect spot to take out our parents when we flew in for the holiday.

Schuler's has remained a favorite for many years. When we first started going, Win Schuler would greet you at your table. The next time you dined, he would come back to your table and greet you by name! The bar cheese, meatballs and prime rib are another our favorites. Don't forget the peppermint ribbon pie for dessert!

We stopped in to eat around 4pm on a Saturday and sat on the Pub side. We ordered the meatball appetizer. Very yummy - great sauce. I had the two napkin beef brisket sandwich. It was amazing! Tender beef and savory cheese and horseradish mayo with a surprise of bread and butter pickles. Just a little zing of sweet. My better half had the three cheese grilled cheese with the tomato basil soup. The best tomato basil he has ever had! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable! Great experience - we will be back.

Beautiful, historic venue and efficient service. Though the pace of service was a tad slow. The onion soup au gratin is rich and delicious. Pass on the lemonade; it's a below average mix. Not at all up to accompanying such good food.

My Prime Rib was dry I don't recommend it. They have THE best meatballs I have ever tasted though.

They have a good selection of dishes that are unique. One thing i did not like about the menu though is it doesn't account for dislikes or possible food allergies, its chefs choice for the sides.

The staff is fast, but they don't listen well. It seems that they are thinking about the next task rather then the one at hand.

Now this was our experience as first time customers. Their reputation as far as we knew was better than this. So we were excited to dine here. We dropped a hundred plus and left disappointed and hungry. The best experience was the meatballs and the desserts we ordered.

Schuler's Resturant and Pub is a historical restaurant located in the heart of the downtown area. Parking is available on the street immediately in front of the restaurant, or in many lots located within one block.
The restaurant is cozy, in a "smoking jacket" kind of way. The lighting is low, the tablecloths are linen, there's a crackling fire in the fireplace, and just a sophisticated feel about the place.
The food is amazing. I have had both the prime rib and a schnitzel from the restaurant. Everything is amazing, cooked to perfection, and served beautifully.
For anyone visiting the Marshall area, I whole-heatedly recommend making a stop at Schuler's!

My work takes me all over and I intentionally look for these little gems to eat at everywhere I go; this one was a slam dunk. The Mediterranean Chicken sandwich was probably the best I've ever had and the waitress was excellent. Highly recommending!

Schuler's Restaurant was a wonderful surprise while traveling home from a Chicago road trip. Not sure what to expect, we found everything and everyone very accommodating. My son and I ordered the prime rib, which while delectable was on the fatty side. No problem though, finish a "Schuler Cut" size prime rib and get another at no additional cost.

Our side orders were tasty: my son and I were served green beans and Yukon gold white potatoes which were perfectly cooked and seasoned to us.
Overall we had a great experience. Loved the various quotes used as decorations. The huge fireplace was also a great touch!
