Love the new seating at this theater. Clean and very roomy. This theater is called AMC 10 on Portage.

This is Not Alamo Draft house anymore, It's AMC: Kalamazoo 10. We were saddened by the loss of a great movie theater/culture.

I love the atmosphere of the Alamo. It's always pretty quiet and has quick service. I really like that there is assigned seating for every showing as well. They have decent vegetarian options and tons of local beer.

The food is awesome, especially the fish and chips. They have the best movie theatre popcorn I have ever had. It comes in a silver mixing bowl and they will continue bringing refills to you. Great drinks too. I am saddened that they will be closing the one in Kalamazoo.

My friends and I thought this would be an interesting experience to end our day trip to Kalamazoo. We had a little trouble finding the pace, as their sign is only visible from one angle, so we ended up purchasing our tickets only a couple minutes before the show started. We weren't allowed access to the show, even though we could see that the film had not started yet.

1). The girl working the theater was incredibly rude as she explained to us that we wouldnt be able to enter.

2). Why were we allowed to buy tickets for a show we wouldn't be allowed in to? Surely the people selling tickets are aware of policy?

3). Posting this policy publicly on your website would be helpful for newcomers. We wasted our time and and some money on parking.

I see from other reviews that this place is closing. I can't say I'm surprised.

ABSOLUTE BEST MOVIE THEATER EVER. Alamo is amazing. They not only have all the movies out in normal theaters but that have special movies too. Sings a Long's or quote a longs. Old movies. They offer full service food and drink. And it's EXCELLENT! their spicy Buffalo pizza will make you cry it's so spicy. They have excellent fries. Bottomless popcorn. Their adult shakes are great and they have a killer beer selection! Plus they have a rewards program and cool things that come with movie tickets. Glasses or shirts, etc.

Best place to see a movie. They had a bit of a rocky start with service but now it's awesome. Sign up for victory points to get free snacks. The cookies are awesome.
They don't allow kids most the time (under 18 without an adult), they serve beer to your seat. They enforce the no talking and no cell phones which is great.
