This is a great place to bring the entire family regardless of age! There is something for everyone to do. One of the highlights is getting to hand feed the giraffes some treats and getting to ride the train. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the entire park. There’s a good size play area for young kids that was really neat and a great opportunity for parents to take a seat for a bit! Price was pretty fair given the size of the zoo ($17).
The entire zoo is wheelchair accessible including parking, bathrooms, ramps, etc.

They have great events, they sometimes have free days. The staff is so nice. Always clean. Have activities for all ages. Animals seem so relax and happy. So much fun. BUT Food is horrible here, eat before you come or after you leave. I wish I could've recieved a refund for all my food, hard, cold, nasty, 45$ in food threw almost all of it away.

This is a great small zoo, perfect for little kids - we took our 2 year old grandson. They have a great play area and the animals are relatively close. On the other hand, I hate to support a zoo where the cages and containment areas are so small. Lots of the animals were pacing - which I believe is a sign of stress. I recognize the limitations of property in Santa Barbara, but there has to be a better way to handle this.

Each time we visit this zoo we love it. It has a quaint feel compared to others mega zoos but still has plenty to see. The feel of the zoo is definitely more like a beautiful park setting. The weather has never been too hot since it's right by the ocean. Our last visit was unique as we did the Safari overnight experience with scouts. It was a great night with behind the scenes tours and a chance to experience the zoo at night. It was worth it and the breakfast was good.

Great zoo location, easy to get to, perfect for the kids. The train ride is a must see. And bring your own food if you want anything other than basic sandwich or salad. (Although they did serve beer- which is a lifesaver.)

This is the best small town zoo around! Totally worth every penny. We have family that lives in town so we purchased the yearly membership adn it's totally worth it. If you plan to visit 3 times in one year, you'll save money. Plus, there is a reciprocal list that gets you 50% off or even free in some cases to other zoos around the US. We've been to the SF Zoo and aquarium for 50% off, Happy Hollow Zoo in San Jose for 50% off, Atascadero Zoo, for 50% off, LA Zoo for 50% off, and the Santa Ana Zoo for free. For the larger zoos, that's a savings of $10-$12 per adult. The savings add up quickly.

I love our Zoo because it's such a personable and small and family-oriented space. It does not have a large collection of animals but the animals are much better taking care of compare to other much larger zoos, it appears that way at least. It's a great place to take your family to spend spend 3 hours together!!

We love this zoo! We have a membership and go once a month or so. The animals are great, it's clean, almost always has good weather, and it's small enough that we can see all the animals in one day. Staff are friendly and we love the train ride!

Went with my husband on a Wednesday afternoon. We hadn't been there before. We were incredibly impressed. We are used to the L.A. Zoo. This was way more personal and intimate. All of the animals were out and active and with minimal view obstruction. We had one-on-one interaction with zoo keepers who were very excited about their work. We had a great time.

This zoo was so nice. Not too big so great to take the kids too. Great variety of animals. The penguins and meerkats were so active and playful. The leopard was beautiful and there were so many other animals that my kids loved. You can even pay to fed the giraffes. Which is a fun experience.

Nice little zoo tucked away in Santa Barbara. Not too big which is great for kids to walk around. Very nice and clean. Close to the beach which keeps it a little cooler than other zoos.

This is a great little zoo. If you have little kids that like animals and you live in the area, you should totally get a membership. The zoo is small and accessible enough that you can spend a satisfying hour, or you can see the whole thing in 2 hours.

Good zoo for the size of Santa Barbara. It's clean and the animals seem well looked after. We had a great chat with the ant eater keeper, very knowledgeable and excited to share. Lots of space for kids to run around and play.

This is a great walkable zoo which enjoys perpetual good weather. The animals seem to sufficient space. At certain times there are feeding exhibits of leopards and lions.
The apes and primates here seem to have enough space because it's not always easy to find many.

Such beautiful views that you can't get from other parts of Santa Barbara. The family of giraffes is always a great attraction and if you're here the train ride is a must for both adults and children. They serve good food and beer here too. It's very well kept and the staff are very knowledgeable.
