Food and drink were not good. Wine glass was dirty. Ordered lamb, medium rare (as I always do, and know what it should look like) and it was served raw with just a sear, sent it back, and it came out 'mostly' raw again. The part that was edible, was bland. Mussels were just OK. I emailed them to express my disappointment on a hundred dollar meal, not including tip, and still haven't heard back 2 weeks later.
Very charming place. Even though the restaurant was busy I didn't get the feeling of it being crowded. A romantic dinner for two can easily take place next to a noisy family outing. The food was excellent and just enough to leave room for a decadent dessert.
Good food and good service. Was a good place to experience / explore.
I don't like writing bad reviews. Every place has good things and bad. I gave 2 stars to Spagio because it had more things I didn't like then liked. (This is my opinion)
Pros:
-Yes, it is very expensive but the atmosphere and food selection warrents the price tag.
-Great wine select!!
-Staff was really friendly and pretty good.
-Valet parking on Grand is a must!
-Plenty of sitting.
So-so
-The Creamy Fresh Burrata was ok. The crostini was over cooked (more like a chip and we only got 5 which isn't enough) but the burrata was great with balsamic!
-The patrons are all older and felt more like a place to have a business dinner then a couples dinner but was quite and good atmosphere.
Cons
-The decor is pretty bad. It feels high class and hipster at the same time But actually fails at both.
-My rack of lamb was pretty bad and very tasteless. The mashed potatoes were great and I ended up using them to favor my lamb.
-Same for my wife's Sausage & Broccolini Ravioli. It was too al dente (could be a matter of opinion) but her plate had no flavor at all.
-Lastly, be aware (I should have seen it coming) that the cesar salad has anchovies on it like really Strips of fish sitting on a head of lettuce. I like fish but even I couldn't eat it. Not sure if I would call it a salad.
Summary:
Dinner for two, with two beers, and an appetizer = $89.00 (w/o tip)
I wouldn't recommend this to a friend but wouldn't discourage them from going. Maybe they had an off night?
Ghastly service. Food so-so and overpriced. One waiter in entire restaurant. We should have known something was amiss when we showed up at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night and there were fewer than a dozen guests in the entire place and no one at the bar. AVOID.
Absolutely fantastic. Had my birthday dinner here tonight, and this week they offered an orange roughy special dinner at $32.00. Price was fair for how delicious the dish was, and plated nicely, too.
They hosted an event for us and it was fantastic. They were super easy to work with and the food was great. Highly recommend if you're looking for a location for an upscale group dinner.
Almost perfect. Took my wife here for a lunch date. Nice ambiance in a quiet setting. Considerate service with quality food at a fitting price. I had the lobster bisque, steak sandwich with cream sauce, and potato salad. The later was well plated but heavy on the mayo and a bit bland. It would have been better to replace the green peas in it with capers or something with a bit more zing.
This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that has been consistently great. The food is incredible and the staff friendly. They have an amazing wine offering as well that will keep you there longer than you expect! So make sure you're ready to stay at least another hour for wine dessert and laughs!
The Duroc Southwestern Marinated Pork was one of the finest and most affordable dishes I have ever eaten, the whole menu is quite affordable and the atmosphere within the restaurant is decadent and otherworldly for a "casual" fine dining experience. I stumbled into this restaurant after leaving another restaurant I didn't think to get reservations for on a Saturday night like a genius, and convinced my girlfriend to try Spagio with me to save the night. Not only was our night saved, but I think it was improved by the discovery of this gem. The staff was incredibly personable and friendly as well. Spagio has my vote the next time we go out.
Good service, delicious pasta, 20% off bottles of wine on Sundays. What's not to like? Chopped salad is a must!
A Grandview staple for almost three decades at this point, Chef Hubert always has quality dishes and great deserts. Definitely a good meal.
Service is fabulous. Food is delightfully good with a nice smaller restaurant cozy feel. It's expensive but a nice treat with good desserts. Although I ordered a Tiramisu to go and they forgot to pack it up in my leftovers bag I'll give them a pass because the overall experience was wonderful.
