Awesome experience. Great sushi. The server and sushi chef had a miscommunication and they gave us one roll for free even though we ate it and loved it. We'd be back if we lived here.

Picking up food for delivery. Arrived around 8pm, and was told the 6 item order was being made. Didn't get the order until 910. Constantly told the order is being made when it wasn't.

SHIMBASHI Izakaya is the best poke I've had outside of Hawaii. Having an actual French chef making each bowl makes ALL of the difference. The quality of the fish, sauces, toppings, heck even the fruit infused water far surpasses the competition.

Great restaurant tucked away in the corner of Del Mar Plaza. This gastropub (izakaya) has delicious bite-sized snacks that pair well with their selection of sake.

Authentic izakaya feel. Portions were sufficient. Food was delicious. Get the green tea cake with green tea ice cream. It's not too sweet, and definitely hits the spot!
