Real. Regionally Grown. Food.
I enjoyed the Red Quinoa & Smoked Salmon Salad over lunch. Butternut Squash, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Baby Spinach in a Champagne Dressing. Perfect for lunch. Light but filling. Healthy but fulfilling. Johnson County's finest Farm-to-table restaurant.
Rye always seems to have great beer, delicious food and amazing staff! I have attended several Happy Hours at Rye. Each time there seems to be something new on the menu or their drink list.
Had a great time at our last visit where they had one of my favorite beers on tap called Bomb!, of you haven't tried it you need to try it there!
My wife and I plan to be back soon.
Have enjoyed both a Sunday Brunch and a noon meal. Both were great. Lunch had the Fried Chicken, salmon salad (there were 3 of us) and for dessert a sharing of pumpkin pie. It was one of the best I have ever had, it wasn't just plain old pumpkin pie but had wonderful flavors that remained with you mentally for days. So I found out that they offer pies to go and ordered for Thanksgiving. Pumpkin, MoKan, Apple.
PS
The chicken was wonderful and so were the salads. But what do you expect from James Beard Award Winning Chefs. Kansas City is BLESSED.
I've been here twice and enjoyed both meals. The salmon was cooked to perfection. I think they cook the salmon better than most seafood restaurants in KC. My wife likes the chicken & dumplings. We also like that they offer free corn bread muffin & rolls
Love the dinner menu, Service and quality of food is always served hot & fresh. Veggies are right from their garden so the variety is awesome. I rate it a 4.5 they do a good job with carry out!
Tried and tried to love this place, couldn't even like it. Great location, decent atmosphere, and the large crowds constantly streaming in peaked our interest. After five to six dining experiences, sampling several items from the menu, every group we went with had the same consensus the food is not bad, it's blandvery bland. Rye benefits from limited options for flavorful breakfast in KC metro, however, two stars for effort.
Always wonderful food at this place, from brunch to dinner. Love how they casually make menu changes at various times too. Service is good, though at times doesn't seem as friendly as I would expect.
As for the picture, I have never seen Sugar Cream Pie on a menu anywhere but Northern Indiana. It was amazing.
Midwest meets refined dining. There were several things that I wanted to try on the menu and will gladly go back to try the things I didn't get. I ended up getting the pan-seared whitefish which perfectly blended flavors and texture. I was wanting more sauce, but by the end I had sauce left. I also got a cocktail and was pleasantly surprised to get a mini bottle to refill my glass. And I got the cake instead of the pie and found it be decadent, but light. The food was all around excellent. Service and atmosphere was also enjoyable, though not as important to me.
Wonderful food, fun rustic décor. Shame about the horrible parking situation and it was done on purpose by the development for that crowded downtown feel. If that were upgraded with a small free parking garage I'd come here more often.
Hearty food done very well. Shrimp and grits were terrific along with the cocktails. Relaxed atmosphere
Fried Chicken is excellent. It's not often you get really tasty crispy fried chicken that's isn't too greasy. If two people are going to get the chicken, just get the whole bird. It's a better deal and you just take home the leftovers.
The baked potato is about the size of your head. Mac n cheese with bacon is even better than it sounds.
Burnt end appetizer is probably some of the best burnt ends I've had in KC. Too bad it's only an app.
Atmosphere is okay. It's a kinda tightly spaced and lit a little too low to read the wine list. Luckily they have a very good beer selection.
Our server was perfect. Very accommodating, didn't try to up-sell us on anything and didn't hover over us.
Simply the best breakfast food I have ever found. The bacon is a must. Highly recommend you try a little of everything because you might be surprised by what you like here. Not a fan of grits usually but theirs are superb.
Fantastic chicken that is from local farmers! Sides are great too! I hear their steak is fantastic as well and they currently have a special of 50% off on steaks on Mondays. Little pricey though FYI
