Great concept, however the food seemed to be lacking for me.

The decor was pretty awesome. A huge open space filled with picnic tables and butcher paper for you to eat your meal on - great for families and large groups. You walk by troughs full of sodas when you line up and choose your sides and dessert as you pass the fridges. The family I went with ordered an assortment of meats and sides. Everything looked delicious, except for the fact that all of the meats were just a bit too salty for me.which was a shame. The ribs were probably my favorite between the brisket and pulled pork.

Great meats. Perfectly cooked; moist but tender. Place is clean and cs great! But please make other choices for barbecue sauces like Southeast Asian style, East Asian, Moroccan and South American flavors.

I love the food here and as anyone who regularly visits. It will be busy during lunch home. However they go through the line quickly as they are trained well to get you in and out. Good country feeling when you are there with all the decorations. They also have the TV'S good with games on so you can enjoy as well while you are eating.

This is one of my favorite places for BBQ. The atmosphere is casual (decorated with old license plates, etc.) and the service is great. They have very good BBQ. I usually go for the pulled pork sandwich, which has a large helping of meat on it. I also go for a hot link, which has great flavor and good heat.

Also it's one of the few places in Phoenix where you can find Big Red cream soda (a staple in the Midwest and South). That's one of the things I enjoy most about this place, even though it's a chain, when I eat there, I don't feel like I'm in Phoenix anymore; it provides a bit of an escape from the standard southwest fare that is so prevalent here. And Big Red takes me back home to Indiana.

I've eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. I'm sure you won't be either.

I came with a group of six and we ordered a bit of everything. It was a fun and unique dining experience. Of all the meats I thought the pulled pork had the most flavor. I didn't give it 5 stars because I was not impressed with the two barbecue sauce options. They tasted the same and were just "ok". I wouldn't have cared as much if the BBQ theme wasn't so strong. Your taste buds may be different.

This place is as country as you can get. Staff is friendly and will welcome you once you step through the door. If your uncertain about what food taste like, they will give you samples. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to food. They cook their food on real wood and smoke the food. The meats are real tender and falls apart ( good for making sandwiches ). They have different temperature sauces for you to put on the meat yourself. The meats are juicy and tender that you really don't need to add sauces. The sauces are made fresh 2 - 3× daily. That's how fast the sauces are used. They even have a little country store where you can buy their homemade sauces and souvenirs for travelers. They welcome everybody and also thanks you for stopping by.

The restaurant is called Country Store & BBQ because that is how it is known and called in Texas. It has been here for the past five years and even though many clients came in and had lunch today, according to the staff, the restaurant is usually more crowded during the weekend. What I chose today was Turkey BBQ which was tender, juicy and delicious but being there for the first time I tried to look at others and decide what is the right and best way for me to proceed. The people were also eager and kind to help. They have all types of sides, BBQ sauces, soft drinks and beers. They have indoor and outdoor seatings and they also do catering. Service was efficient and kind.

I'm generally not a fan of barbecue but I travel from east Mesa to get the turkey here. It's perfectly smoked, tender, and juicy. Coleslaw is good and so are new potatoes. Just ask for easy on the butter or they'll be swimming in it. Someone in my party got corn on the cob and said it was the best they'd ever had. Unfortunately they also had the pulled pork sandwich, which we had to wait on but it wasn't even warm when served. Still giving it 5 stars since everything else was on point.

What a great spot for BBQ in the valley. It's very unusual here in Arizona to find a larger footprint that also has GREAT barbecue but this is the place to find it. The largeness of Rudy's is awesome to accommodate larger groups and they have great group meals as well. It still feels like a down-home place from Texas and the staff are all very friendly. I'm from Texas and know a thing or two about quality barbecue and you can tell that the passion and love has never left Rudys' food. Great selection of beer to go with it as well!

Excellent! It was our first time in, so they gave us a full rundown and let us sample things. You get plenty of food for the money. We tried the brisket, ribs, a baked potato and a banana pudding. It was all great, but next time I could just do the ribs because they're that good.

Down-to-earth country atmosphere. You order your food cafe line style and sit wherever. When you're done, you clean up your own tray (which is fine by me, just don't expect to be worshipped if you're one of those high-maintenance types).

My only (very minor) issue is the two BBQ sauces they provide (there's also hot sauce and the regular condiments and such). It's not that there's only two BBQ sauces, it's that I couldn't taste the difference between the two. Still good, though, and that should not stop you from coming here. It's worth checking out.

This was our first restaurant experience when we moved to Arizona from Pittsburgh. It was for my Husbands, Dads and Uncles birthday. The food was beyond great. I have tasted BBQ all over the city and still find Rudy's to be superior. We love love love the creamed corn. The atmosphere is great too. Super great place for a birthday party we will enjoy going back again and again.

Rudy's does things differently than most restaurants. Meat entrees can be purchased in any quantity, and is priced by weight like when you order at the deli counter of a grocery store. They give out free samples, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was top notch. Great food and excellent atmosphere make this an all around fantastic experience.

The people here are really nice. The food was great. If you don't know what you want they offer a sample. All in all it hit the spot. I highly recommend you to eat at this place.

WOW! This place was worth the wait. We stood in line for 20 min but drank a beer while we were looking over the amazing menu. The beer and soda were in the ice cold trough. A must go! Finger licking good. We had a bucket of beer along with ribs that were to die for! Our friends that live near by told us about this place and I want to go back. Next Spring Training, I'm there!
