Rojo has over time become one of my favorite restaurants in Birmingham. My favorite dishes are the Berkeley’s tacos (with corn tortillas/grilled chicken), the Caesar chicken pasta, and the nachos. The jalapeño strawberry margarita is also delicious. The atmosphere is always friendly, and I’m guilty of eating here multiple nights in a week. Every Tuesday, Rojo has donated 10% of sales to a local charity. If only they were open on Mondays too, but everyone deserves a day off!

I think they used vienna sausages in my burrito. And the margarita tasted more like a sugar straw than an adult drink. This is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. and I am including Taco Bell in the Mexican food category. As a plus, the patio is nice and the place has an OK atmosphere. If you just want a cheap beer, then this place is good. Just don’t eat here.

8/10 would recommend. Genuinely good place. Good environment. Outside patio seating was great. Fast quality service. Got the BBQ Burrito. EXACTLY what I expected and wanted it to be. Just and overall good experience. Visiting from Chattanooga, TN.

Great idea/atmosphere. Food is great and drinks were solid. Still not a fan of the quick service type restaurant where If I sit at the bar I don't receive bar service, but otherwise loved it

Grabbed a quick bite. The wine was good and I had the steak fajita salad. The food came out quickly and the porch was quiet and warm.

Really a great place. Good is great but a little on the high end price wise. Atmosphere is nice and cozy inside and outside. I plan to visit again and again.

This placeGreat food. Great bar. Great patio. American fare on one side of the menu. Latin on the other. Order at the counter. Pet friendly.
Paella is my favorite. Lots of vegetarian options. Owners really support the community.

Rojo is my neighborhood haunt. Service is always great, margaritas are delicious. You'll see me here twice a week or more. Definitely more if it's laundry week. And if Kip's around, give him a high five for me!

Very casual but comfortable and pleasant with very good service. The menu is varies and abundant, and the food is amazingly tasty. Nice location with free street parking and a pleasant outdoor area. The menu is Mexican-American and fusion, but not at all like you've had before.

They have a great selection of vegetarian options.Their Spinach Mushroom Quesadilla is SO good.
Seating a large group is usually a hassle but Rojo had no problem with our group of 12. Having different options for seating was nice as well: inside, on the patio, or on the bar side - each option has its own atmosphere.
Did I mention the dessert? Delicious. Any of it or all of it is a good choice.

I love this place! It's so full of life and really represents everything I love about Birmingham. It's a counter service type of place so you order from the front, take your number and take a seat. It's fairly affordable and always has some type of event going on. I especially love it in the summer when the outside isn't boarded up. It's great to sit in Highland and enjoy some good eats and drinks with your friends. Maybe even enjoy a game of trivia if you're there on the right night!

Best Mexican food I've had in my entire life!! So many vegetarian options, I got the grilled veggies tacos with rice and beans. Was impressed beyond words. Definitely recommend. The service was good for how crowded it was, expect a bit of a wait if you go at night. Great atmosphere, pretty cute little place!

Food is decent depending what you order. Had chicken burrito this time. Would get something different next time. Decor is eclectic. Diverse urban hip crowd. Would probably return and try other entree.
