Excellent food, service & atmosphere. The prime rib dip is a superb item and the asperagus fries are a decadent way to get your veggies. Always crowded so make a reservation.

Nick is so revered by his staff they all wear a capital letter N on their lapel to signify his grace who only has to occasionally come in and try a meal of this well-oiled local-loved power house. Impressive. Oh yeah and try the Sea Bass but if you get the Fri chicken ask for more gravy because it's made with gold particles.

It's easily one of the best spots in town. Bar area is first come seating, and always busy. Room is full of energy and chill music adds to the vibe. Varied menu with a bunch of fish and sandwiches, all pretty good. Reservations are essential most nights of the week.

My wife and I decided to have lunch at Nick's last Friday. My wife wanted to order a particular salad and simply asked for a different dressing than what the salad ordinarily comes with. She was told that they would not do that. After thinking it was a joke, she got the same reply, no. So she reluctantly ordered the same salad but to have the dressing on the side like she has done many times before at any other restaurant with out any issue. Nothing out of the ordinary. The waiter proceeds to tell us that my wife can't have a different dressing nor can she get it on the side because it's a new menu item. We asked really??? He said no. Confused, we ask him to give us a minute to so she can decide if there is something else on the menu. While we were looking at the menu the manager comes over and starts to talk to us. She tells us that the salad is a new menu item and due to the "Presentation and Integrity of the salad" they were unable serve us the salad the way my wife had preferred. The Presentation and Integrity of a SALAD?!? We asked really? And after they said still said no, we decided to get up and leave.

As we were leaving the manager offered us their customer service #, but didn't even care to offer a solution.

Unbelievable that a restaurant could be so full of them selves that they would rather have seated customers get up and walk out of their establishment than accommodate a simple request.

Oh and good luck getting a reservation any time between 4:30 and 9:30 pm any day of the week, even calling a week in advance.

I’ve had the prime rib dip and it was great.
Today I had the fried chicken sandwich. I got it with the grilled broccoli, and both of them are really good. As a starter we had the shrimp taquitos - they were da bomb. You’ll be fighting for the last one.

Nick's is AMAZING! Try the Chilean seabass or the sashumi, an old fashion, bistro plate.hell, TRY THEM ALL!! The service and the manager were great too. The food is fresh and will make your palate jump for joy. It's not the #1 restaurant in San Clemente for nothing.

Great food, and atmosphere, though a bit pricey. I'd give it 5 stars but our service was slow, despite the restaurant not being full.
I tried the new bistro mac and cheese, which was very tasty though I think I'd call it more like a spicy chicken Alfredo.

Update. Went again today and it was FANTASTIC!
Had lunch here and the food is amazing! Service is fantastic. It's a perfect get-a-way from San Diego for fine dining and shoot back home. Love it!

The food here is consistently amazing. Watch out it's always so crowded. We always try to beat the rush or avoid it. Can bring your own wine with no cork fee. Love the patio in the summer and bar is nice too. Friendly staff.

We love this place, but we mostly go for special occasions. We'd go here more often if we didn't had to make reservations on most weekends and holidays. They're busy and for a good reason. They have amazing food and excellent customer service. We always have a delightful time here for Valentine's day, our wedding anniversary, and our birthdays. We also bring friends or family here whenever they're in town.

It's close to everything if we decide to do something after dinner, like bar hopping, desserts, a walk by the beach. Definitely a romantic place for us. It's never too loud here and the ambiance is perfect. It's not too dark, not too bright. There are tables near the fire place if someone really wants to turn up the heat for romantic points. We enjoy ourselves here, especially since our server is usually attentive and the food is great.
