COCKROACHES!! Place was dirty, with dead bugs. We figured there would be bugs due to how old the building is. Found a cockroach and the owner Robert Chu was so disrespectful we were in awe. Dirty clothes and didn't change for a period of 5 days. (Woman reviewed the place that started her stay before us, he STILL had the same dirty shirt & pants on this morning when we went to confront him about refund again) Didn't even stay one night and he refused a refund - in the process with the health department and bbb now.

Very nice experiencewould recommend staying againgreat location to walk to concerts at Five Flags. Innkeeper very sociable and pleasant offering history of Inn.

The hotel needs badly to be renovated and updated. Wall paper held up by tacks and thread bare bath mats are not acceptable. Also dust everywhere

Beautiful home with tons of charm. Robert is very gracious and accommodating. The place has a magic vibe and rich with history that sets you back in time. Walking distance to many wonderful shops and places to eat and drink. We will be back as our goal is to feel the charm of every room in this glorious house. If you like a setting that takes you back in time and has a home feel this is it.

A beautiful old house, steeped in history. Some quirks that come with the age of the building are easy to ignore. Thanks to Robert for being a kind and welcoming host!

Lobed our suite for the weekend. Very large and secluded. Bath room could use an upgrade on a couple of things. The overall experience was great and we'll worth it. Breakfast was good both mornings with a story about the house from the host.

We loved the period decor, and the location was good for most of what we wanted to do in Dubuque. The breakfast was great, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly. However, this facility is in desperate need of updating and maintenance. There were bits of the plaster ceiling missing in the dining room, the bathroom in our room had peeling caulk, paint, and wallpaper, and the vent fan and bathroom heat lamp did not work. The hinges on all the doors squeak, and some of the rugs are a bit threadbare. Like I said, this could be a fascinating old period building, but with lots of work.

Nice room with antique furniture and private full-size bathroom. Hot breakfast and fresh fruit in the morning. Would stay here again.

I had the Presidential Suite, complete with a Whirlpool tub. Breakfast has been very delicious, plenty of porch space if you like to sit outside.

The whole building is beautiful. Robert, the host, was incredibly kind and hospitable. Comfy beds, hot breakfast, snacks and treats in dishes and on plates ubiquitous, but may be haunted in a non-threatening kind of way.
