We were here for an employee appreciation event. The food was pretty good. Did not see one smile on the faces of the Marriott staff. Must be a pretty bad place to work.

The rooms are clean, but not as modern as I would like, but they are well maintained. The beds are as comfortable as you would expect for a hotel. The staff is friendly, and the food is very good. This hotel is at a good location in the city. It is close to the mall and several restaurants.

Do not stay here if you have trouble walking. The walk to our room was too long. Elevators are located on one side of the building only. Also for the price we paid complementary coffee would have been appreciated. I have to give props to the kitchen staff, the food was excellent but over priced. $12.99 for breakfast.

Its conveniently located and easily accessible from downtown, even in several inches of snow. There was plenty of parking. All staff members I encountered were friendly, courteous, and helpful. There was what appeared to be a manager mopping the lobby at 11:30pm because of the snow! Everything was clean and in working order. The room was even equipped with a smart tv. There was unfortunately a false fire alarm around 9am, but it stopped and was quickly followed by an explanation and apology on the PA system. Other than that, it was my best hotel experience in the last year.

Hotel is older, but still nice. The beds are super comfortable. The fitness room was clean and had good equipment. The bathroom was the only problem area. It was really small, and there was a large area on the ceiling that was obviously continually wet and had started to mold. No wonder my sinuses were plugged! With a renovation it could be really nice again.

This is a great place to have large events. I’ve never hosted one here myself, but I have been to many. The staff keeps the place orderly even when there is a high volume of people around. Areas are spacious enough so it doesn’t feel crowded. We have only stayed in the rooms once in recent memory and they were nice and it gave us a chance to use the pool in the winter time.

As a co-owner of Absolute Music, I am happy to give a 5 star review to the Cedar Rapids Marriott. They do a fantastic job. We love DJing events here!

This was a very nice Marriott years ago. It has become very dated and is in need for maintenance. A sign clearly was broken and repaired with a big crack going though it. Room service trays did it get picked up until next day. No towels in workout room in morning. Couch in room had big rip.

On a good note the bed was good and bathroom was clean.

Just arrived and already want to leave. Front desk staff was less than inviting or complimentary to the Marriott reputation. When they informed me my room was a two double bed room I asked, " What happened to my king bed? I called last week to make sure it would be a king." The response was "Sorry, we are pretty booked up." Again I let them know I had called ahead last week and was told it would be a king. It fell again on deaf ears. I am 6'3 1/2" 225lbs..not a double bed guy. And what Marriott doesn't have a mini fridge in it?? Not impressed, nor will I be staying here again.

The ballroom was a very nice space with pleasant decor. The room was warm though and it seemed like the climate control was not functional. The hotel staff were very courteous and friendly. Good parking opportunities.

Nice place but a little dated.
Very cool building that is large & open with a lot to look at.
Main Lobby & public space is awesome!
They have TONS of meeting space for all your needs.
Place does need a little updating though.
Main entrance doors were broke & looked like they had been for a while.
Rooms are in need of a brand update (coming soon) but they are very spacious & well-maintained.
Overall, everything is very clean & presentable.

DO NOT BLOCK ROOMS HERE. The way the Marriott chooses to run their business is appalling, and the worst hotel service I have ever encountered. In October, we blocked off 30+ rooms for our wedding in August because we have almost all out-of-town guests. We went to the Marriott, worked with the people there, and signed the paperwork. This was all done 10 months in advance of my wedding. All of our guests were told to book their room at the Marriott, as this is on the website, and all the invitations. This Wednesday, with only 40 days left before my wedding, we are notified that the Marriott CANCELED our entire block and gave ALL of our rooms to someone else. I am absolutely out of luck. The lady on the phone just kept saying “check your contract – we reserve the right to cancel our blocks at any time.” This could not be more disappointing. The entire point of a block is to have rooms reserved, so that 40 days out, my guests will have somewhere to stay. The fact that the Marriott canceled my block with this short notice, and that my time and the contract mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is indescribably frustrating and absolutely the worst business you could ask for when trying to plan your wedding. DO NOT BLOCK ROOMS HERE FOR ANY REASON. Choose to have your wedding guests or any other guests stay anywhere else.

Friendly staff. Good location. Awesome room. Very comfortable bed. Ordered room service for breakfast. It was pretty good, reasonably priced, and delivered quickly. Would definitely stay again.

I have visited the hotel a few times for company events. The staff is always friendly, it is a great place for work events. The food is always good as well. If it wasn't for all the positive experiences when I am actually at the hotel I would rate this place much lower. I have stayed there and the rooms are nice. The problem I had was with blocking off and reserving rooms for our wedding. Many guests and had problems reserving rooms with the website and then tried to call and were told they could only get the group rate if they booked the the web, or some guest were td the group rate was for one night and not both. We had to keep contacting the Rep and it would work for a couple days and then a guest would let us know they were having issues booking the room. This cycle went on for weeks. If it happened and was fixed once this would Still be a five star. If the wedding booking was my only experience it would have been a 2 star.

Lunch was great and the food is outstanding. I think I had three pieces of pie for dessert. The staff is more than welcoming, personable and attentive. Will be back very soon!

I had a great time. Lots of space for my kid to run around in while. At the same time the space isn't wasted. Had a good time. Nice rooms, great decorations, love the waterfall. The location is fantastic. You cant miss it driving up. Fantastic parking. Bathrooms were clean. Very "up to par" so to speak. I really enjoyed my time at the Marriott.
