Room was nice. Poor lighting outside of the hotel, but the area is safe so it's not too much of an issue. Door to the bathroom wouldn't close. Simple but acceptable hotel.
It serves it's purpose. No frills but never disappointing. Pet friendly is nice as I travel with my dog on occasion. The attached bar was a nice way to unwind after a day of driving. Staff was friendly and it was very clean.
The room was clean, staff was nice, but the place was in disrepair. The door to the adjoining room had a busted deadbolt and even the bolt lock didn't line up. There was a very bad draft coming from the entrance door to the outside simply because it wasn't weather stripped. The toilet constantly ran and the bathtub dripped.
Friendly staff and good rates. Room was clean and pillow top mattress was comfortable. No lids for the coffee cups in the lobby, however. Tsk tsk.
Large clean rooms, great linens and towels. Great water pressure. Friendly staff and a quite air conditioner.
After traveling for nearly 700 miles on 9/2/2017 I arrived around 10:30 p.m. to discover that the room I had booked through Expedia had been sold out from underneath me with no notification due to a prior days "fluke" of over 40 guests checking out and the sole cleaning lady being unable to clean all 40 rooms in one day.
Because of the inclement weather and the unfamiliarity of the state/location I accepted a room "upgrade" to a room that was $3.00 more expensive, a total of $68.66. I was handed the keys and then I went to check the room. Turns out in order to get to the room, with slight mobility issues in both me and my partner, we would have to climb a WET, UNLIT stairwell in the pouring rain. Realizing that this was not going to work, I immediately returned to the front office to cancel my room. I was allowed to do so and was informed that "since I JUST signed in and then left I would NOT be charged." Oh really? Great I thought! So I left and had to pay nearly triple out of pocket just to book a hotel room for the night in an unfamiliar location.
Fast forward to 2 days later, I still have charges for both rooms on my card of 68.66 and 70.84. I called to speak with a manager, no manager was available. How interesting. I am giving them 72 hours to correct these charges, or I will go to my bank for a charge-back for both rooms.
If I were you, until they fix their staffing issue and their attitudes on not informing customers that their rooms are no longer available I would highly recommend you avoid this hotel chain.
First let me say that we have stayed with Redroof many times, in different locations, because they are one of the few hotels that are pet friendly. We booked this one online and were very disappointed when we pulled in. The place looked deserted. Not a car in the parking lot, and as we drove around the building looking for the office, every room we passed had filthy windows. We finally decided the office entrance must be in the courtyard, I went in and asked to be shown the room before we checked in and the girl was very accommodating. The floor looked half vacuumed and I wanted real bad to pull the blankets back, but refrained. I would never ever stay at this hotel.
In my experience redroof inn had a bad rep for a long time; however, they have really cleaned up their act and offer a great stay for a great price, and your pets are welcome.
Just stay away from this one until they catch up.
First let me say that Red Roof In is a franchised business and I they are usually my go to when travelling.
Booked a king bed suite for a night. Room was supposed to have a microwave but it didn't. Went to the bathroom, no toilet paper at all. Husband had to go down to the front desk to get toilet paper and notified them of the missing microwave so we wouldn't be accused. They told us the microwave was broken, no offer to allow us to change rooms. Laying in bed later that night and my husband noticed that the room does not have a smoke detector or sprinkler. My husband is a fire inspector and a hotel this large is supposed to have both. He went to the front desk to discuss it with a manager and was told they did not have a manager, all the managers had quit.
Loved the location and the one of the newest hotels in town. Will definitely stay there again!
The rooms were nice. Lots of tv stations. Comfortable beds. The queen beds seemed almost the size of kings. Very comfortable.
Excellent customer service.
Main downside is that it had just snowed. The parking lot was icy, and some of the walkways. Thin walls too. Could hear neighbors
We visited this location during its first week of business. The phone had not been properly set up, so staff warned us that 911 would not work. The shower did not drain properly, and was level with the floor of the bathroom because we were in an accessible room. This caused the entire bathroom to flood, including some seeping under the bathroom door and into the carpet in the main room. We were promptly moved to a new room, but were not compensated for the inconvenience.
That said, the room was spacious, the hotel was well appointed and clean, the staff were friendly, and the price reasonable. If they can improve on the first-week problems, it has potential to be a great budget motel.
Room Tip: The accessible rooms have giant bathrooms
Not the nicest red roof I've been to. Shower head was broken, internet was really slow, and the card keys stopped working
Clean room. Decent price. Friendly staff.
