Place was terrible, expected way more from the Ray's brand. I have had better food at bad chain restaurants. My wife and I ordered the "special" to share, in my experience at restaurants of this caliber the steak would come out pre-cut for sharability, it was not. Once I tried cutting (sawing) into the steak I immediatly knew that this steak was not worth the money we were going to pay for it, and no seasoning, absolutely flavorless. The manager was receptive and did not make us pay for dinner. If you are looking for a classic steakhouse experience I would not recommend.
Food was subpar and way too expensive for the portions. Hostess started off sitting us down by telling us we have "strict business casual" and that my friend should pull down her skirt. Comparably, my friend was far from scandolous and she had a mean attitude from the beginning. Just trying to have a fun night for her for her birthday and we could do without the condescending tone. Would never recommend. Would never come back. Please try rays OUT of the city. :)
We came here for Thanksgiving and overall we enjoyed ourselves. The service was great and for the most part the food was decent. The only thing we were disappointed in were the desserts. The apple pie and pecan pie were really good, while certain items such as the lemon bars were not up to par.
First of all the FOOD was amazing and definitely a 5 star. The reason I'm giving this place a 3 star review is because the dinning area was hot and felt overcrowded. Where I was seated I couldn't hear the live music playing even through I made reservations a month ahead of time. I personally wouldn't spend my money here again. The waiter was cool and so was the rest of the staff but to me it's just not worth the extra money.
I was very disappointed in my choice of this restaurant. We came here during the Dragon Con event on a Sunday and the seating hostess acted as if we were inconveniencing her just by walking in. After an eye roll as we came in the door she seated us after loudly putting her cell phone down. Then when we were seated we asked about the sushi menu and she walked off as if to get itwe never got that sushi menu. Our waiter got our drink and food orders and the manager did bring us our food promptly (which is the only reason I gave them 2 stars). After that I had to beg for more tea multiple times before receiving and my cousin asked for more lemonade that after 30 minutes and 2 re- requests he never got. It took another 10 minutes just to get our bill and another 10 to get them to take the payment. Found out later the waiters were laughing and cutting up in the kitchen instead of being waiters. Will never come back here.
I'm unsure of what happened, but somehow communication was an issue.the hostess was very rude, expected my fiance' to tote her own plate to our reserved table that was 20mins late, from the bar..and also gave our table away, as we were trying to find a server to carry our food items over to our table Needless to say a Hostess represents a company or brand and she ruined our first impressions of Ray's In The City.. that we have heard Remarkable things about.
We felt welcome as soon as we came in. Great service and scrumptious food. Definitely a place to bring a Date a spouse and/or friends. One of my favorite spots in Atlanta. Check it out!
Great experience. The atmosphere was smooth with good live jazz in the background. The Red Hare beer was served perfectly in a very chilled glass. The bartender Clay can do a thousand things at one time with great conversation and a smile. Very friendly, staff and great food that is to die for. Get there quick the place fills up fast.
Was not my first choice, actually let me correct that I was not even aware Ray's was nearby, but so glad we stumbled upon it. We were seated quickly, beverages we obtained shortly afterwards and our waiter was delightful. We both ordered the salmon and it was cooked perfection. Asparagus was also. I loved the fact that you can be in the restaurant and still take in the goings on, on Peachtree. Will definitely be back soon. Pleasant lunch.
Sea food was very delicious. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed the food and cocktails.
I love Ray's! The mussels are to die for. The shrimp so fresh and yummy. And Jazz by Kayla makes the perfect evening. Dr. Don Clarke
The food is excellent especially the crab cakes. We went for dinner and it was a bit noisy but we could still carry on a conversation. A bit pricey but worth it on special occasions or for entertaining guest.
We were visiting for a conference and the staff and facilities were excellent! The spa is beautiful and coupled with a nice steam room that all people who are hotel guests can use. Jonathan was incredibly helpful with giving us advice on what to do and we couldn't believe that we had our own personal driver within a 5 k
Food was great. Lobster bisque and salmon oscar were terrific. Service was.interesting. Our waiter was great, but the rest of the dining room staff seemed to run chaotic. They had to make a group that was already seated move to accommodate another group. Only the middle tables have table cloths, the other tables don't and the "raw" tables were old and unappealing. Just lazy or cheap not to have table cloths on all the tables when a meal for 2 is $200. If you only care about the food for the price tag then you'll be fine going to the restaurant. But if you want the full experience Ray's on the River is definitely a better bet.
