Went to Ramada San Diego to visit the bar Proud Mary for a few drinks with friends. Fantastic live jazz music and great Creole food. Definitely get a plate of the fried zucchini, you will not regret it. Food is a little pricy for a bar but it is definitely a bar/restaurant and is delicious. Will definitely be going back.
Hotel rooms were very clean. The front desk was really nice and let us check in early. I was even able to get a room right next to people who were there with us but checked in the night before. Breakfast was good and the waitress was very nice. Would stay there again.
Extremely professional and accommodating. They were very easy to work with. Mary Holladay was especially wonderful to work with. We'll be headed there every time we're in San Diego!
It was easy to check in and check out. The pool looked nice and people and to be enjoying the jacuzzi as well. They had a nice, safe spot to wait for an Uber. I liked it. Though the TV froze when I was trying to scroll on it. But there was a microwave and a mini fridge/freezer. I enjoyed it there. The bed was very soft.
Great price and location, free parking and the restaurant was very good. The room needed some work, but for the price I was pleased. I'll probably spend a little more $$ next time and stay somewhere else.
Nice budget priced property. Rooms are clean with no weird smells. Comfortable beds and hot showers. The restaurant and bar has great entertainment and food. The staff is friendly. No complaints from me.
We booked the hotel for two rooms for three nights. We stayed there to go to Legoland one day and Sea World the next. The room was spacious, but on older side. When I pulled down the sheets there was a hair so I called the front desk and they sent maids to change them. I expected a bit more padding under the carpet, it felt like carpet laid on cement. The bed did on the harder side and the bathroom sink counter and shower both are small. The closet is a full sized one with large mirrored doors. The pool is nice and large and well maintained. I expected a bit more for the price we paid.
This hotel is in close proximity to the highway, so it's nice to know nothing is more than about 30 minutes away. With that being said, the hotel itself is overpriced for what it is. It is simple and offers basic amenities, but it doesn't offer anything more that would make it unique. The rooms are clean and well kept. It would be ideal for a suitable last-minute place if everywhere else is booked. If you do go here, book as a walk-in. Online booking sites such as Expedia make the price higher.
It was an interesting crowd. We went for some rockabilly band that my parents were into. The service was not that great since they only had one waitress on that evening for the entire dinning area of the bar. The music was great but it's not the same band ever night there. Drinks were decent, but the menu didn't really have anything light. Everything on the menu was heavy and over $10.
Such a nice 4 night stay at this hotel! We stayed in a double queen room overlooking the courtyard. Room was very clean, the AC was always running cold and water was very hot when needed. One morning we woke up to a dead battery, asked the front desk for help and he sent a maintenence man right away to jump us! The staff was always very nice and pleasant. The pool area and hot tub always looked clean, so we took advantage of it every night! We had a great stay and will definitely be booking again next time we are in San Diego.
Great hotel! They will accommodate you in anyway possible. Towels are always on hand, pool and jacuzzi on site, great parking lot very spacious. Will highly recommend it.
My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at the Grand, in a suite. We are local, and thought it would be fun to stay close but do things around town as tourists without a long drive or plane trip. Well, the suite, the service, the spa, the grounds - all are so lovely - we did not leave! You truly feel like you are far away from everything. It's so quiet and luxurious. Every need is taken care of, usually before you think of it. Great food, walkways and adult pool. I had a relaxing facial in the spa with Jen. She was a true professional, the products were amazing and she really paid attention without being chatty. I have recommended her to family and friends. Even the spa waiting room was somewhere I didn't want to leave! Soft blankets and a glowing fire - heaven. We will be back!!!
We came to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was unfortunately raining very hard so we can't review the pool area. This is what we did like. The nightclub downstairs played great music. the vibe of the hotel, the location within the gaslamp and near petco park. The employees and customer service was
We stayed in the King Suite and it was comfortable and sexy.
The negatives. We did not like the bathroom setup. Even for a married couple it offered no privacy with the bathroom door being open at the top and the frosted glass door. Some things still require mystery.
This place is terrible! The staff is rude, the building is old and not in the best shape, and lobby and room both smell bad. The water in the bathroom sink never got hot, at best it was warm. I had to shave with warm water. I had to go out and buy air freshener to help mask the stench in the room. The staff is terrible and have no idea how to interact with customers, very rude. The washing machine did a decent job but the dry was really bad. It ran a full 45 minutes and my clothes were still damp. I'm so dissapointed with this "hotel", in actuality is just a cheesy over priced motel. I would give this place negative stars if that was possible.
