Pricey and always packed, but the only place nearby for a good beef.

Atmospheric Chicago dining at its finest. Enjoy famous hot dogs and Italian beefs to some catchy music served by friendly staff.
Careful: the beefs tend to already be on the wet side, so if you want that dipped, it's going to be SOAKED! Whether that's a bad thing or not is up to you!
The crowds are large but the wait time isn't that bad and you'll usually be able to find a seat.
If you're going for the drive-thru, the lines will look long and be long but will actually go very quickly as the staff have it down to a science.

Still very good but no way his it the same since its been sold. The drive through used to run like a well oiled machine. Now, not so much. Last time I waited 15 in the drive through. Food portions have shrunkfor some items as well. Still better than most fast food places but just not as good as it once was.

Burgers are great. Service is pretty good. Depending on what time you go or how busy they are you might want to make sure you get what you're paying for. Other than that it's great and now they deliver!! 😁

This is a good place to eat. There is usually a lot of people, sometimes is hard to find a table. It is very famous for the food and I think it is really good. The do deliveries, they have drive through, it is very convenient. The decoration inside is really pretty.

Best Italian beef around & reasonably priced. You can always find a seat there.

Hot dog casing almost crunchy. Couldn't tell if it was the pickle or the hot dog I was biting. What happened to this place. Why did they need to change everything? Hot dogs different, cake different, dressing for chopped sales different, etc. Why change what works? Oh that's right, you can never have enough money so let's give them the 5cent cheaper hot dog they won't know the difference. Wow. Can someone open a "Mortillos" next door so we can get the food we used to love back? May as well be another Sonic.

As a family owned restaurant, it was always very good. Since they've sold it, so far it hasn't changed that I can see. And hope it never will.

What can I say? I love Portillo's. The hot dog with everything and the Italian beef are the best around. The line may seem long when you get here, but it always moves fast.

The food here is incredible! Even when the lines are extremely long, they move all of us along pretty quickly. They definitely have the process down.

The only problem that I have is that I had ordered an Italian beef with jardinero and mozzarella cheese. When I sat down to eat, I looked at my Italian beef and they went skimpy on everything. Now if you go to the one on Route 59 in Naperville, they pile on everything and you won't be disappointed.

Loved it! Great food, great staff! They were packed (as always) so the wait time on our order was long. But totally worth it. Will come again!

Big order, all with different toppings, and all came out perfect. But would like cheese on top of beef rather than under it. Perfect every time. Love it here. Very consistent. Glad new owners didn't change anything. Love two Az locations also.

This place is usually always busy so do not go if you are in a hurry. It does offer the Barnelli's that serves pasta, ribs salads and other choices that some Portillo's do not. There is a lot of seating however when busy seating still may be hard to find. I enjoy the food here and often get a smoothie to go with my meal. They have shakes and chocolate cake for those wanting something sweet. They offer a small bar area with a choice of two beers, I believe, that come in a very large goblet. Overall, this is a great place to grab a fast bite or have a nice meal for adults and children.

Great food and speedy service! This place packs out all hours of the day, yet they still get orders (inside and drive thru) out surprisingly fast. Order using the app for easy pick-up without the lines.

WOW! I wouldn't call myself the hot dog type (i'm more of a sandwich girl myself) but these sandwiches are mighty fine! From the moment the delectable, juicy sandwich entered my mouth, I knew i was in heaven. Great staff!

Bury me with portillos sandwiches when i die ;)

I liked the atmosphere and it was very clean, but the food was slightly less than mediocre. I just wanted a classic Chicago style hot dog while we were up here, and I was told to go to Portillo's. Sadly, the dog was barely warm and the bun was soggy. My impression was that it had been sitting there a while, even though we were there after the lunch rush on a Saturday and it was not at all busy. At least the pickle spear was good and they weren't shy on the toppings. I had a bite of my husband's Italian beef sandwich and it was about the same level of impressiveness. My kid got a brat (without sauerkraut though) and it had some kind of interesting sauce, so that was somewhat better. I was told to get the cheesy fries butmeh. Nothing special. Crinkle cut with Velveeta. Maybe it was just this location or maybe they were having an off dayI don't know. I wanted to like it, really. But the food has the ultimate vote. And I was bummed by this Chicagoland food experience. I'd go back to some other places we have visited on prior trips if I want a hot dog.

Amazing drive through efficiency. Do wish they had a menu closer to the beginning of the line versus the middle when someone is standing in front of you asking for your order.

I can't complain too much about that as it's the most efficient I've ever seen. Just makes it hard to switch to finding a healthier option than your normal go too as that takes a moment of thought at least.
