I already have an Associate degree and I decided to enroll here for a Bachelor's program. I'm not impressed at all. My in-person interactions with staff have seemed disorganized and chaotic compared to other schools.

In addition, I needed to take ENC1102, and I did so online with Rebecca Heintz. Hurricane Irma came through Florida and knocked out power, so of course, other priorities came first. That didn't matter to this college or instructor; she dropped me from the class for not meeting her "must log in three times per week" requirement, despite posting about waiving assignment deadlines.

This demonstrates that Polk State does not care what students may be facing during a widespread disaster. I will be switching schools next semester!

I don't recommend anyone to attend this school! Financial aid will make excuse after excuse as to why they can't disburse your school refund! I mean its ridiculous! When you call trying to resolve any matter the phone lines they transfer you too just ring & ring! The professor's are unprofessional they start class when they decide to without informing you , the staff are rude, nasty & many are ghetto! They ask for about all your personal information even things no other college ever asked for i never experienced nothing like this in my entire life i will not be attending Polk State ever again in my life & the school work they give is way too much! This school needs to be closed down!

It seems to me and others that have attended this place that if your dealing with financial aid they do a horrible job. I am constantly battling trying to figure out what the problem is when it comes to my classes and some how I am sent on a wild goose chase just to deal with one simple easy thing. But somehow they can't do their job fully, it's always half-assed and nearly never done correctly the first time. It takes me multiple trys to get it correctly. There is only one person there that does there job great which is the Spanish guy. He is the only helpful person in that whole financial aid office. If I was the president I would fire everyone and start off new with people who care and are willing to do their job correctly the first time. If you have a chance push them to help you or else you'll constantly be in limbo.

Absolutely the WORST admin! If you're using any sort of loan to pay tuition, be prepared to do their job for them. My graduation has been delayed twice because they won't process my paperwork in a timely manner and I've been dropped from my classes. They refuse to give me contact information for the dean, any dean and they constantly email the "answer no answer" email.
Teachers and class size aren't bad and some teachers are actually great. The only reason they're getting 1 star. The admin is the reason their drop/transfer rate is so high. I'm not sure if it's s lack of intelligence or laziness as to why things don't get done, but I'll be transferring to USF

I have had all good experiences as a student here at Polk State. The only thing I would complain about is the phone service. They have representatives that answer the phones and they have no idea what they're talking about when answering your questions, you're better off actually going to the campus and speaking to the department's employees there. And if you do decide to call anyways be prepared to be stuck on hold forever and don't try calling the advisory they literally never pick up their phone! But other than that this college is a really great school.

I am chuckling as I read the posts about PSC. Some are true, some are just BS from spoiled little brats who are used to mommy and daddy coddling them for 18 years and expecting to be waited on hand and foot. 1) Yes, this is a do it yourself type college. It's cheap to go here and that's why they have less employees. 2) You can get help from the advisors if you are willing to go and wait in line. Staying way ahead of the game helps. You go in on enrollment week and you will wait hours. 3) These are the same exact courses at any community college. You get out what you put in. So all you babies whining, STFU.

Worst college in the nation. The only reason I'm giving this place 1 star is because 0 stars isn't an option. If you're planning on using any kind of loan or financial aid whatsoever in order to go to school, be prepared to be thrown through loops and then dropped out of all your classes the day before classes start for "non-payment." I had a private loan sent to them weeks before the semester started and they didn't accept it and officially enroll me back into my classes until 2 weeks before finals. The financial aid office has no idea what they're doing, and routinely messes up students' accounts and has them dropped, only for the student to have to go to hell and back to have it fixed, if they even work with you to fix it. And it's all done without notice to the student affected. The only way you find out is when you go to class and your name isn't called for attendance. The guidance counselors also have no clue how to do their jobs, and Lord forbid they have to work hand in hand with financial aid to fix something because it seems like they don't even know who works for what department. The only thing this school possibly has going for it is that when I was actually in classes, my teachers almost always seemed to be cool. Other than that though, which has nothing to do with the school itself really, this place is trash. If you value your sanity and don't enjoy stressing years of your life expectancy away with dealing with stupid people, then I would suggest finding another place to aquire your higher education. My wife and I both ended up dropping and switching to a slightly more expensive school, but my god was that the best decision we have ever made. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time applying here.

TLCC staff have a really bad attitude. They don't greet when students walk in. They are extremely racist and they don't help. They want to just get paid for not doing anything.

I missed a semester because I couldn't find anyone in Financial Services to help me! Every time I call, they either didn't answer the phone or they kept telling me to come in. When I would go into the office, I would wait such a long time. One time, they completely forgot about me. I don't know how that is possible, because I signed in. When I finally saw someone, I was told I was good to go several times, but I really wasn't. Like I said, I miss an entire semester. No one seemed to even care.
