Delicious and great choice for local food. Really good experience.
If they make handbooks for how to open a restaurant that looks like a locals-only breakfast-brunch cafe, this place would be in the examples. If you're going to try this place out, get there some time before 8AM and get in on their early bird special. ~$4 in most cases and $.99 coffee.
Speaking of coffee, I do not usually pass up coffee with breakfast. However, I'm pretty sure the coffee I saw them making was the same kind of grind I was apathetically used to in my office. The rest of the stuff was your standard fare. Nothing specially, really. I heard the muffins were something I had to try so I tried to order one. I was sent up to the front to find one I wanted, but they were all out. The poor person who makes them was also in the hospital and wasn't there to make any more.
If Christmas only came around once every 5 years, this place would feel as slow as Christmas. Oh well -- island time right? :) Shut up and be happy.
ALWAYS above and beyond, look for Diana as ur server, ALWAYS 1st class service
The atmosphere was really nice, the owner is very friendly and the staff was Amazing
Fast service and Great food
I'll be back
Was just ok. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing..and breakfast would have been a better choice. Crab cakes were mushy and inedible. Quesadilla was bland. French fries were excellent. Fried fish looked wonderful but to much breading. Greek salad was as expected. Would not go back.
Good ole home cooked meal in a down-home atmosphere. The Creole Skillet breakfast is awesome.
So many reasons
1. Menu says egg sandwich on a kaiser roll. It came on a Sysco hamburger bun. When I asked the waitress about it, she said, "yeah. I don't know why the menu says that." She did offer to bring me some other type of bread. Not sure how that would have worked.
2. The sandwich was thrown together. Three strips of bacon all in one stack, just thrown in there lazily.
3. I asked for butter on my sandwich. They gave me butter packets that I had to spread myself. This was a to-go order, so I had to sit there at the counter and complete the sandwich before I could eat it. I just ate there.
4. They ran out of coffee on my cup. 9:30am. She asked me to wait for a new pot. I said that I would take what was there and wait for the rest. Again, this was a to-go order.
5. Sounds from the TV and the music system were basically fighting it out, so nothing sounded good, and both were too low.
6. Almost every worker in there had an unenthusiastic look, as if they'd much rather be somewhere else. Horrible impression.
I almost never write reviews, but this experience was such that I felt compelled.
My advice would be to avoid.
Slow service. 20 minutes for drinks. 4 servers on and only 7 tables. Servers were all standing around talking and rolling silverware.. as a former F&B employee I understand when things are busy but this was ridiculous.
The staff was on top of their game and the omelets were really good, that was all I needed to enjoy my breakfast. Their coffee cups were so nicely made that we ended up buying one as a souvenir.
