Pros: Great location. We love Hilton Head and love the restaurants.
Con: if we come back next year, we will not stay at Sea Crest. We have a relative staying at Ports A Call for the same price and it's like night and day. Their place was new and very refreshing. Their location was only about a half mile to the west.
Our unit and probably all the units are in desperate need of major renovations. We found mold behind the mattresses on the walls on the bunk beds. The medicine cabinets were filthy. The A/C closet was discustiing.
Do your research and find other alternatives. We made the best of a poor situation and got by.

Sea Crest is an older property but sooo convenient. We've been here several years. Great Hot tub, pool and walking distance to the beach and many shops and restaurants

My mother inlaw has been coming here for a few years now and she said that they have been going down hill the last few years. We had nothing but problems this year. Her normal room wasn't ready, they gave no notice to her. The rooms weren't clean, towels were stained and gross, rooms smelled musty, there's broken glass under the bed, and the pools were ice cold. The shower head is not for anyone over 5 ft 5in. There stains on the bed as well. The deck by the ocean is old and worn. You can't see the ocean from this location, but the one across the street (same name) has a veiw of the ocean. Best part is the beach bar, it has awesome wraps and other food. If it wasn't for my mother-in-law letting us use her time share I would have checked in somewhere else.

Great Location and maintenance was Johnny on the spot. 3 very nice pools. I had the 1 bedroom loft. It is an older building that has had a lot of renovations. It would only take a few things to make this a 4-5 star resort for me. 1. Mattress and box springs. 2. Washer & Dryer. 3. Dish soap. 4. Dishwasher in working order. 5. No charge for towel exchange. 6. Non stick pots and pans. 7. Electronic card reader for entrance to the room.

Great location and Pool. Condo was fine but a little dusty when we got there. Overall it was clean, just may not have been used for a few weeks.

Here is my summary of the pros and cons of Sea Crest Surf & Racquet Club.

Pros:

- fantastic location, less than 3 minute walk to the beach and directly across the beach from Coligny (shopping, restaurants, grocery store, ice cream, etc.)

- access to a 3rd pool across the street at Sea Crest. This pool is great with a pool bar. Pool Bar Jim is now at this pool bar. Great drinks. Another benefit is if you're at the beach with little ones and need a bathroom, you can access the restrooms with your access code at this Sea Crest pool.

- Roomy 2 bedroom with 2 1/2 bathrooms

Cons:

- Older resort, building is older

- Rooms are dimly lit, makes for a dark/tunnel like feel when you walk in

- Noisey hallways can be distracting at times

Sea Crest has the best location on the island, and a variety of four pools to choose from, including the two beach pools (kiddie and regular). A three minute walk to the beach, restaurants, grocery store, and shops is such a plus!! Yes, it is outdated, but always very clean in my experience. The grounds are well maintained and we appreciate the grill and picnic area outside for a night or two to eat in. We have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to our next trip!

This place has BED BUGS! This was our first family trip after being owners here. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I took time stamped photos of bugs, bedding, and bites we obtained from being there the week. I called the office over 10 times and emailed more than 4 times to notify them and ask what would be done. After finally calling and reaching someone I was told "we can't confirm this was bed bugs we had our maintenance people check". No pest control would be called or anything! We had to leave things behind and wash EVERYTHING in fear of taking these bugs back home with us! Still we have not heard anything back from Sea Crest. Vacation from hell.
