    I like petland basically because its the only place in town where you can play with a puppy. (Except the humane society). The actual store is tiny and limited on selection. Prices are very high.

    I am disgusted — this company has absolutely no idea what customer service means! We have been in Kansas visiting family. And have been in search of a Golden Retriever for the past few months. A friend of ours told us about Petland. We decided to make a family event out of the Wednesday evening trip in search of a new family member! We absolutely fell in love with a ten week old female Golden Retriever. Because she was 2,200.00 we decided to get financing. After being approved we were told we couldn’t take her home because she had been losing weight and that we could come back on Friday. I assumed the weight was because of being dewormed. After reading these reviews I’m sure the poor thing is sick.

    I explained to the district manager we were only visiting from Iowa and that we were returning home on Thursday morning. We decided to stay another day and made an appointment to come back Friday.

    When we showed up for our appointment this morning a woman and her son were in a cubicle with the puppy we were supposed to be purchasing. She was lying on the floor and they weren’t even interacting with her. I asked the woman if they were just looking or if she was purchasing— she replied, “well, purchasing is the plan!” I approached the store manager and she said oh, you must be the lady that has the appointment?!
    I was holding the hand of my 4year old little girl who was already in a panic because someone else had her dog I calmly explained to her she would still be going home with her puppy and not to cry. I told her a little boy would be very sad as well that he wouldn’t be going home with the same puppy! I knew in my heart that because we had filled out the paperwork, were approved and there for our appointment we would surely be going home with her. I was VERY WRONG!
    Not only were we told the puppy would be going home with the other lady we were told that she hadn’t even been approved for financing yet and that she didn’t have somewhere to take her either. I was not only disappointed but disgusted with the service! I explained we stayed in Kansas to be able to take her home at the district managers request. I asked that she be called and was refused! I told her we had cash to put down instead of just the financing and again was denied. When I asked why we weren’t able to have her I was told because she was in the cubicle with another client and the manager pushed me to take the male Golden Retriever instead.

    My daughter left in tears and I’m devastated — as this would have been her first puppy! We have spent years planning on getting a dog when the time was right and months in search of the right one. These decisions have not been made lightly! I can not believe this company could be so cold as to say because she was being looked at by another family we no longer mattered!

    Very helpful staff! Entered the store at 6:00 p.m. The store was very busy and had several areas where people could go and hold/play with the animals. Was a very personal atmosphere. Found my item in the store and went back to checkout. Waited about 5 min before someone came to the register, but I believe the wait was because so many people were there holding animals and most of the staff was involved helping. Once I was attended to the person who helped me was very polite and helpful! Im sure during off peak hours the checkout time would be much better as well. Overall pleased with their store.

    I got a puppy from here and he’s been nothing but sick half of the time. Petland does not help, at all, by any means, with ANY of the vet bills for the first year like you might have heard. They don’t really care about the animals. The person who cuts the dogs nails every Friday because it’s free between two certain times that day does NOT know how to cut nails properly. Petland is an absolute joke.

    Never again. Bought a puppy one year ago. The same day purchase, she started coughing. Took to the suggested vet, kennel cough diagnosed. Called Petland didn't seem to be troubled by it. As if it were an everyday happening. Not to worry about it, no problem, they can be cured. No problem still love her of course, of course they expect that from the minute you pick her up, so the "just send her back" to Petland to infect other dogs (?) was a shocking answer at the time. That was a year ago, today looking over paperwork, notes in small print, wouldn't notice normally " inguinal hernia repair" which can be inheritable, passed down, doesn't say of course. And the excitement of holding your brand new possible pet..they count on that and "questions" one might have. Shame on Petland. Need to be more transparent and puppy medical history, and more concerned than they were and highly contagious kennel cough. The dog is not a dog that is AKC approved (they don't mention that), why the constant calls from the American Kennel Club and sales after purchase I have no clue.

    Petland Wichita is amazing in a couple of different ways. 1.) Every time I go into Petland, the staff has never been so helpful. Time and time again, they go out of their way to meet you and your pet's needs! 2.) They carry better than generic products. Their wide selection of pet food (my experience) helps with your pet whether he needs to loose weight or gain it. They will keep your pet healthy and happy!! 3.) They always have the best pets!! You go in and never want to leave without a little critter, cat, or pup! Oh my gosh and YOU CAN PLAY WITH THEM. It's like meeting your best friend for the first time and you can do it all at Petland Wichita! I'm telling you, that's the place to go if you need ANYTHING pet wise.

    Everytime I go in there with my pit puppy she loves it and so do I! The people that work for Petland are SO helpful. I was having trouble finding a toy that she wouldn't destroy in 10 minutes and I had someone point out some tougher toys for destructive pups. Also, my pup (Presley) has a chewing issue. 😩 I had some help with finding things to steer her away from them. Presley no longer chews on things we don't want her to. Also, we love that they give treats at checkout, it helps her with learning to behave in public. They always have her do tricks and reward her with treats! We also love that prices aren't CRAZY expensive compared to others. We ALWAYS choose Petland for our crazy pup.

    I love coming into to petland and fulfilling my puppy needs. All the other animals are fun to play with too! Last time I was there I played with an English bulldog and it was the cutest thing ever. The workers are very nice and I can tell they are busy so I usually wait to ask for a dog until I see that they aren't busy because they're usually really busy. 10/10 would recommend going here to everyone and anyone. I've bought a couple fish from here and dog toys for my dog.

    My friend and I went here so she could get a hamster. One of the employees, Jacob, was very kind, considerate, and helpful. He helped us with everything we asked and he seemed to be a busy guy at the store. He was running around doing mostly everything. Another employee, not sure of his name, I believe it was Travis was very, very rude to not only my friend and I but to Jacob who was nothing but kind and helpful to us. He continually degraded Jacob in front of us and made him feel small. I applauded Jacob for his help and kindness as we checked out and left. Besides the rudeness and arrogance of Travis, it was a great experience and kudos to having a great employee like Jacob!!

    We bought our Laney Lou at Petland at the beginning of March. After setting our sights on a beagle/basset hound little girl, someone else unfortunately bought her. I was heartbroken, however, with the help of the staff, they informed of us of her sister that was coming in later that week! We came in as soon as we could and fell completely in love with Laney! We couldn't be happier with the quality of service and attention to customer needs! Laney has truly been an amazing addition to our family and has stolen the hearts of everyone around her! Thank you so much Keaton and the Petland Staff for bringing our Laney Lou to us!

    Tonight, my husband and I went to Petland to buy some food for our dogs. Of course, we had to check out all the cute dogs in the windows! There are so many cute dogs. I wish I could have taken them all home! Several employees were available to answer questions about breeds and were very helpful and friendly! That's what I love about Petland, besides the cute animals, the people who work there are always so kind and helpful! We love visiting Petland!

    We bought our puppy from here not too long ago. It was such a great experience. I know a staff member that works there and she is so helpful every time we come in. We bought a beagle/basset puppy and he just happened to be on sale at that time. The staff was helpful and made sure that we had everything that we needed to ensure we raise a happy and healthy puppy. We have not had any issues with our puppy behavior or health wise. If we buy another puppy in the future we will make sure that it is from Petland!

    I bought my (now) 7 month old maltipoo, Bentley, when he was only 3 months old. All of his brothers and sisters had already been adopted, and he was the last of his breed in store. I went in to Petland not thinking I was going to walk out with a puppy, but after playing with him for 15 minutes I fell in love. The entire Petland staff was extremely helpful towards the process and seemed to love Bentley just as much as I did. Their compassion towards animals shows greatly, and their professionalism was top notch. Bentley gets along great with my rescue dog, Calvin. He has easily been a great addition to my little family. Thanks, Petland!
