Shop is always understaffed and poorly organized about appointments. Brought my car in for a routine oil change/tire rotation/inspection. Specifically asked them to check out a fluctuating temperature gauge. They claimed that the system looked fine, with coolant levels in limits and no leaks. Five minutes after I drive off the lot, my engine starts steaming and the temperature is through the roof. I get a tow to another shop, where they find coolant completely empty, leaked out of the thermostat housing. Worst of all, they refused any compensation for what was missed during their inspection. Terrible service!

Ripoff. Just go get them to give you a free estimate and then go somewhere else. Sometimes they will actually find everything you need to have done to your car. Don’t go if you need just one tire put on really quickly because they will delay it as long as possible and then tell you you need more tires. They will put air in your tires for free because they have to according to the laws. But they will not come up to you quickly like they do at other places.

Got a flat tire on the way home from work Tuesday was able to make it to pep boys,the the guy at the counter tells me he short staff and been for awhile and couldn't get to it till Thursday, I asked him if he could help me change my spare and told me if I could do that then he could fix my flat, I have used them several times cause they convenient to work but doubt I ever go back

I was charged $66, for them to simply install a headlight bulb, because Autozone couldn't simply install the brand new bulb for me!

EDIT** 2/23/17 - I am leaving my original review below, but wanted to add that the manager reached out to me and took his time to diligently look into the situation I mentioned and rectified it.

I've had a good experience and a bad experience here. In the auto shop world, where, I feel, many people immediately clench up thinking about, due to being scammed by an auto shop in the past and getting vastly different cost estimates from different places for a repair; RELIABILITY, consistency, and trust go a long way.
Good Experience: I ordered tires online from Pepboys at a good price for my wife's car and had them installed here, fast friendly service, the man that took care of me on my lunch break was courteous and got me out the door quickly with four nice new tires installed during my scheduled appointment time. No complaints.
Bad Experience: Due to my first encounter here I thought I would start getting my oil changed here as they have a decent rewards program and are cheap. I scheduled an appointment online for my wife to take her car there for a general oil change. She showed up on time with our baby in tow. The man at the counter told her to go sit down and he would bring her papers to fill out, (while they were sitting right beside him). He then continued to chat with a girl at the counter, while she waited (for a scheduled appointment). After waiting she asked him politely, "Sir can you assist me, I have an appointment?" He said, "Yes ma'am, I'll be bringing it to you," and just continues to chat up the girl at the counter. After waiting more than 20 minutes at a scheduled appointment my wife left. Upon leaving she notices all the guys "working in the shop" just sitting around laughing outside.
She returned to a locally owned, a place with a reliable reputation that gets her in and out the door with the same service every time. They cater to her as she is the customer.response / report this review -

We had a great experience at this location! We had a flat tire, and the tire store in Gulf Breeze where we bought it was closed so we went here to buy a new one but the manager told us to check and see if the tire was insured, and it was! Saved us $130. Then he put the spare on for us and wouldn't take any money. Thank you so much!

Typically we have good experiences at this location but not today. We dropped our truck off on Thursday to be ready Monday morning. It's not. They didn't do anything with the truck. All they could do was apologize. We won't use this location again.

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Pep Boys on 300 E Cervantes and they guys are great! I trust them to take care of my tires and other repairs to my vehicles. They clearly understand what great customer service is about and how to earn my business. Thanks to all the fellows who help take care of my family car needs!

Had a great experience today. Went in to get brake pad replaced because a place I had been to before said I needed to get them done, basically they lied. Pep boys was very honest with me and proved to me how I didn't have to get them replaced. Very respectable people.

Terrible service! Don't believe any of the high rated reviews. These guy's are crooks and are not certified mechanics. Save yourself time and money and go to a different shop with ASE certified technicians. Can't believe two grand was wasted and literally NOTHING was fixed. Stay away from pep boys on Cervantes! They should be shut down. They are either completely incompetent or just too lazy to fix things right the first time. Chances are if you take your here, it will come back to you with more problems then it originally had. STAY AWAY!
