As a former Rave employee, I'm sad this and the two other Birmingham Raves were sold. They've maintained strong presentation standards, though, so I can't really complain. Plus, you can still find the Rave logo on the sconces in the auditoriums.

Decent theater. Surprised people bother to buy tickets. Morning show you had to buy the tickets at the concession stand and the employees were clueless. You could have risky just walked in and watched any movie without a ticket

Nice faculty that is well maintained. But this is one of the theaters that parents drop their kids off at. Large groups of high schoolers that don't care about those watching their movies in the same room.

Loud groups of folks on their phones or just talking loudly to one another. Staff was notified and they stood at the bottom for around 30 seconds with nothing resolved for long. Near Identical situation has happened 3 of the last 6 movies I've watched their. Seats are nice.

Facilities, good. However the patrons at the movies (2 groups) made the experience a bad one. One group had an "adult" with them but when the group was politely asked to turn off the phone flashlights and keep their voices down, the "adult" and the party failed to changed their rude and disruptive behaviors; the second group of young girls (not affiliated with the first) were equally disruptive, and were also asked (admittedly less politely, but still polite) which again made no change. The theatre staff made their presence known but to no avail (how much influence does a 16 yr old standing in a corner really have?) My experience at this Carmike ensured I won't be visiting this location again. I'll stick to the poorer side of the tracks; the patrons at least have enough dignity and respect for those around them.
