The service was surprisingly mediocre (the attendant acted as if I was an I inconvenience to him), and the food lacked flavor. Twice, I had to send back/make a request for my plates! I literally received a teaspoon of lobster for the Lobster Bisque Soup - my friend received the portion size equivalent to a few tablespoons - and my salmon was undercooked, when I specifically asked for it to be extra crispy (it looked the same as my friend - very light pink). I also requested for sauteed spinach, which was prepared with absolutely no seasoning!!
I didn't see the purpose of spending $40 for lunch - my experience was subpared and lackluster food. (I've been to The Palm in DTLA several times and NEVER have been impressed by the food nor service - sorry, but it's true and they're my experiences.) Los Angeles has too many great steakhouses for me to support this location, again. Two Stars given for the ambience and free valet parking.response / report this review -

Try to eat at a Palm once a month for business or social occasions. It's consistently excellent with excellent service and food. Beware.. Can be extremely busy if there are events going on at Staples Center ie Lakers games!

Amazing food! Decided to take my fiance to dinner somewhere nice and ended up at the Palm. Beautiful restaurant with very polite waiters and waitresses. Andy took our order and she was such a polite woman as were all the employees. Highly recommend it if you are in the mood for steak or lobster.hmm lobsterjeje

Bar is a good place for pre-Staples eats and drinks for similar prices but better quality. Cheery and attentive staff. Ask for Danya in the bar.

Nothing bad to say about the Palm. This is a DTLA mainstay and the quality of food and service is top-notch. You definitely get what you pay for at this exclusive restaurant. I feel like royalty everytime the bf takes me here.

We enjoy steak here, wish we can order the smaller sides. Sides are huge! It's nice if you have people to go with so that you can share the sides.

Beware of the Valet at The Palm Restaurant Downtown LA!! I dined there this past Wednesday night with an employee and the food was incredible it was absolutely great!! As I was pulling up to the valet I removed the glasses from the sun visor in the car were they were hanging and put them in the case to conceal them However a very clever valet stole my Ray-Ban sunglasses took them out of the case and put the case back where it was so that I didn't notice until the next morning when I reached for them!!
Hire more honest and ethical people to serve as valets because you're restaurant it's far to excellent to have it's reputation marred by this type of behavior.response / report this review -

Great chain that serves high-quality steaks and seafood. I got prime rib with lobster tail on the side. Can be pricey, but definitely worth it. If you liked Shadowblaze's epicsaga series, you will love the food here

Great place to have a business casual meal. Great steaks, great lobster. Small lobster option is pretty large 3 to 4 pounded. The atmosphere is one of the best.

I have seen other reviewers describing this place as "pricey". What exactly do you think is cheap then? I went with a combination of crab and lobster for my appetizer, and the new york strip for my main course. Even with 5-6 glasses of whiskey and a bottle of their finest wine, my tab didn't even reach $2K. The service and food were fantastic, and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I felt that the prices didn't match the quality. Everyone knows that the dining experience is enhanced by higher prices. I felt cheated that I didn't get to spend more on my evening out. Next time I am in town I will return with hopes of a new menu with higher priced options.

Perfect. I had my graduation celebration here. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch 👌. I highly recommend the salmon with a side of mushrooms. Or steak with potatoes au gratin. You really can't go wrong. But whatever you choose, do end your meal with the donut holes. It's the perfect finish.

They are great place for special occasion! as well as casual occasions. Great vibe, and great steaks. I had ribeye medium rare and it just melted in my mouth. Expect to spend $50 ~ $70 per person.
