We had our garage door opener fixed last week, because it would not stay closed when activated. It would hit the ground and go back up. First of all my husband was not home and the repair man was in the garage for quite some time. I decided to go out and ask him if everything was coming along ok. He asked me a question that I had no idea about so I got my phone and called my husband so he could speak to him about it. I went back inside and my husband arrived about twenty minutes later. Still the guy was in the garage. Without a doubt, he was milking it. The Bill was $252.05. Ten days later and here we are, had to have them back because the same issue! To top it off they charged us an additional $42.00! That's insane! My husband paid it then told me about it. I was furious! If it had been me, the guy would not have been paid! So there you go, don't make the same mistake we did, call someone else!

I had a spring snap on my door on a Friday Morning and I called to inquire when a tech could come out, the woman who answered the phone was very friendly and said possibly late this afternoon but most likely Monday. I needed to get the door working so I asked if they sold springs and I would replace it myself. She said yes they could make me one. I headed over and they quoted me the price for a single spring at $7 per inch which in my case was $279 for a single spring. The price seemed very high but I needed the door operational so I paid it. Service was friendly and the price quote was upfront. The transaction was satisfactory aside from the price being very high but in desperation I paid it.

I subsequently changed out the broken spring and got my door working that afternoon.

This morning I ordered 2 new springs made in the USA and 2 new cables at 365garagedoorparts.net, which ironically is located in South Windsor CT including shipping and sales tax for a total price of $212 for EVERYTHING. This way if my garage door ever breaks again I will have the parts on hand to fix it and not be subject to such an exorbitant price. I understand buying locally and appreciate that I was able to get the spring but that price of $279 for a single spring when 2 made in the USA springs and 2 new cables is only $212 is a bit much.

Again the woman I dealt with at the Overhead Door company was pleasant and efficient and she did quote me the price beforehand, it was just a ridiculously expensive price that in desperation I paid…..

This is the second time I've used Overhead Door of Norwich to replace existing garage doors and openers. Charlie the salesman was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions regarding garage door options/garage door opener options and pricing. He kept me informed of the garage door lead times due to supply chain issues. The doors were delivered and installed in the estimated timeframe. The installation of the new garage doors went well and the new doors look great compared to our old, weathered wooden garage doors.

I have an older garage door to which I was hoping to add an automatic opener. Both the salesman, and,
ultimately a service person were professional and helpful. Though my garage was too limited in space for the opener, the service adjustments were very helpful; I also got new rubber door to floor gasket just before the flooding we've experienced here. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about the sales, installation and service by Overhead Door Company of Norwich.

We have been in our house for 15 years. In May, the spring snapped. Since the door was rusting because of the salt in my husband's sander, we decided to replace the door.

Charlie, the salesperson, was available to come out the next day. He used to be a technician so he was able to fix the spring while we was here so that we were able to use the door until the new door came in. Because we face east and are up on a hill and with memories of Irene, we purchased a door with a windload of 140 mph.

The installation technician, Matt, did an outstanding job with attention to detail both inside and out. We greatly appreciate that he programmed the keypad code for us.

After he left, I noticed that we didn't have a slide lock that we use to secure the door when the power goes out. It turns out that I neglected to include it when I ordered the door. I called the next morning and another technician, Doug, was out here that afternoon to install it.

We have other properties where we used the Overhead Door Company of Norwich for both installation and serve They are timely, expert and thorough in their work and we highly recommend them.
