A nice somber area to reflect, with a beautiful monument. The visitor center was supposed to be open, but it wasn't.

I have been going here since I was six and a half. When I was little my dad would litterely take me here to punish me by throwing me out on the batt field during a reenactment. He got into trouble for that. Hated it then but loved it ever since. One time I got lost in the woods. Another time I thought the soap they sold was candy. Still can taste it now 😋 Also if you think the confederates are racist, you got it wrong. Some Yankee kid pointed a toy gun at me and said GERBOW you poop head! I do love this place though! The food is good, it's a nice park, and other than that kid the people are nice. And the confederates like to teach you some real truth about the war not found in textbooks! Go have fun you guys! This is Tyronis- singing out!

Been Fla. 25 yr. I'm 63 now. Born & raised in Manassas, Virginia. ( very proud of it, tell Everyone!! ) Thought I knew Everything about the war & it's history.
Doing a job in North. Fla, I found it by accident. FANTASTIC!!!!!! I love learning something I didn't know. WAS able to catch the re-enactment. Great job great turnout. Well done by all participants!!! Virginia & Alabama. ( Wife & I ) Respectfully. Very proud of my Heritage.

We enjoyed the history of the place. We packed a lunch and then spent the afternoon walking it off.

Our elementary students spent a wonderful afternoon at the Historical encampment at Olustee State Park. They experienced everything from learning to march like an actual army company, seeing a battlefield surgical tent, hearing the cannons blast, reading of local Civil War heroes, to purchasing a few items in the period toy shop tent. A day well spent learning local history!

The battle field is well marked. The trails for hiking can have tall grass but are well marked. Watch for ticks.

Great Place to go to. It's really friendly and it amazing how you can visit both sides of this conflict and see what life was really like during the waning years of the war. On top of that you get to watch the reenactment of a major confederate victory during the waning years of the civil war
