Lovely, special gem of fort Collins. Please don't go to snap pics to look up on Amazon later. It's worth supporting places like this who bring famous authors to town (because of them, I met Neil gaiman!)
I can always count on finding the book I need (and many I don't!) here, and I look forward to wandering the shelves and just seeing what's there.
From old classics to modern thrillers and everything in between, Old Firehouse has it all! Stationary, notebooks, and you can just step next door for a great cup of tea or coffee.
Great local bookstore. They have a great selection. The thing I like most is their recommendation sections. Their staff picks great books to recommend and writes little reviews of them. Very helpful when looking for a new series.
Great prices and friendly staff. Old Firehouse also does a great job at finding and hosting awesome authors for book signings and Q&A's. Love this place!
Hey, Fort Collins folks, we have a gem in our city: a vibrant local book store! I can't say enough good about this place. I'll only focus on the people who run the store. Their passion for the written word, their desire to foster a community, and their efforts to support local authors make this a magical place.
Come. Browse. Purchase. Read. Repeat. Rinsing not necessary.
A lovely, quaint bookstore! It sells both new and used. Though it appears small at first, it extends VERY far back! It has an excellent kids' section with so many options for all ages. My children and I love this place! It's also connected to the tea house next door, Lucky Joe's, which is also a neat place.
Old Firehouse Books is one of those places I keep trying to support but can never find what I am looking for. It is located in an old firehouse in the historic Old Town area of Fort Collins and still maintains the characteristics of such on the exterior. For me, a bookstore should be very inspiring and encourage exploration into new topics and subjects. As much as I try, Old Firehouse Books does not do that. The books they focus on tend to be the popular books out and are usually more expensive than other bookstores. The staff are less engaged than other bookstores I have on my visited list and my husband can attest that there are a lot on that list. Their window displays are typically full of one specific book instead of genres and more often than not, it is a book that I did not like. Old Firehouse Books is a neat historical landmark , but not encouraging for veracious readers such as myself.
Always shop local first and if they don't have it they do what they can to get it for you. They've even referred me to another store once because my kid couldn't wait for delivery (school project and all)
Very cute place with helpful nice employees. Not a great selection though, I never can find what I want and mostly its new overpriced books. I have found a few gems though. Some cheap used mystery books. I want to like this place more but I just don't.
Best bookstore in town in my opinion. They have a healthy mix of new and used books, will special order anything you need that they don't have and I love their rewards program! Not like other new and used bookstores that have an overwhelming romance and sci-fi section. They also have a great comedy section!
Really nice local bookshop was a little hard to find myself around and the employees seemed a little more busy talking between them at the counter so I can't comment much on the customer service but they had a big variety of books in a very nice local that seems like it used to be a old fire station if I'm not mistaken.
This local shop is wonderful - great events to get the community involved in reading! The staff is friendly and welcoming and will order any title without shipping charges. I prefer shopping here than going online to purchase books.
